Of course, someone had to fix the gaping hole in the ship. How it had gotten damaged was discussed. And so the gossip began.
The most frequent remark as the story spread was: "She did WHAT?!"
Barnette had gotten on the unhappy side of the crew opinion polls with her earlier rampage. The video unintentionally broadcast had spread thoughts of sex and male/female interactions. Duerro McFly had furthered the male/female pairing idea with his idea on why Majele and Tarak had been selected for the harvest for their sexual organs.
Now Barnette had blown up a section of ship trying to kill Ranma?
The rumors were flying around and they seemed to get stranger with age.
RUMOR: Jura had been trying to seduce Ranma when Barnette had found them.
RUMOR: Ranma had been trying to seduce Jura...
RUMOR: Barnette had been trying to seduce Ranma...
RUMOR: Barnette had been mindcontrolled by the Harvesters.
RUMOR: Barnette had been in the recreational pharmaceuticals and shooting at the bugs crawling on the walls.
RUMOR: Barnette had been taken over by some alien parasite.
RUMOR: Barnette and Jura were trying to seduce Ranma...
RUMOR: Barnette was angry over Jura seducing Hibiki and taking it out on Ranma.
RUMOR: Barnette had liked being groped so much that she'd actually been out to kill Jura but Ranma had gotten in the way.
RUMOR: Ranma and Jura had been fighting and Barnette had tried to save Ranma but ended up killing Jura. (Jura denied this one over the intercom the moment she heard it.)
RUMOR: Ranma and Jura had been fighting and Barnette had tried to save Jura but ended up killing Ranma. (Ranma denied this one when it reached him.)
RUMOR: Barnette had heard that Ranma would only do the things in that video with some woman who defeated him in combat.
RUMOR: Ranma had tragically been killed by Barnette after Ranma had attempted to seduce B.C. and the Captain in a fit of jealousy because Barnette had actually wanted to seduce the Captain herself.
RUMOR: Barnette had tried to kill Ranma because she had fallen in love with Bart who had fallen in love with Ranma.
It got worse.
