Golden Destinies: Vr. 3: Patrol time; Breakfast time; Restitution time [Episode 128624]

by Matdeception

Pantha checked over her uniform, a simply thing consisting of a purple leather tunic, similar leggings and arm braces with a belt held snug around her waist, a quiver if arrows held there along with her bowie knife. She spared only a brief examination of the dirty insignia etched on top the breastplate she wore, marking her as one of the Edge Guard, with the Star insignia tacked on overhead to signify her station as a member of the Northern contingent.

"It's better to be safe then sorry, Aeila always tells me." Marcus said simply, a carefree smile blazing for all to see. Despite the rather tense ordeal last night, he had already managed to fall back into the every day norm for him. His cherry attitude was what probably endeared him to the ex-theif, Aeila, and anyone who spent any amount of time around the cat quickly learned to either love his attitude, or despise him as the worst type of fool on the planet. He couldn't win everyones friendship, he they that very well, but he could try his best.

"A wise woman." the man who had been attacked the night prior nodded sagely, "It wouldn't due to upset her in her condition. I'm so very sorry this had to happen." sighing a bit, he smiled, though it seemed a little force.

"Don't let it get to you." the nubian cat said simply, picking up her bow. "Aeila's anything but helpless as she is."

"If you say so." Theo grimaced a bit, memories of just how dangerous his wife.. Julia was when she had been pregnant quite evident to that. He doubted that poor Icecream Man had gotten over the sight of an angry pregnant Julia turning his truck over when he informed her they were out of sprinkle covered popsicles. He didn't want to be rude to his saviors, after all, especially not after remembering they too had been threatened by Julia's physcotic dad in this little upset.

"And she does." the other male in the room chuckled, though a bit nervously.

Rolling her neck, audible popping her neck as she did so, Pantha let out a contented sigh. "Alright, Marcus. I'll take Mr. Mage out for the day," she eyed the man, seriously, "Make sure you replace those bandages, Silver Burn's aren't anything to mess with."

Tentatively touching his throat, Marcus nodded. "I will." he spared Theo a glance as the man frowned in irritation. "Don't worry, sir. Pantha's the best Archer on the Eastern Continent! She won't leave you alone to get hurt until some one from Main Guard can come pick you up!" he finished cheerfully.

Theo pursed his lips, momentarily debating the possibility of just getting out of here. It certainly wouldn't be hard to ditch his guard and quickly transport home; Ranma was probably sick with worry by this point. "Alright." he sighed. No, better to just stay where he was told to. Last thing he wanted to do was upset the Edge Guard, or get Pantha in trouble for loosing him. She had, afterall, saved his life. Though he wouldn't admit it to anyone, despite wanting to get him to his daughter he was a little fearful of Tsunami finding a way to go after him even then. Certainly some one as influencial and powerful as The Ninja master would have access to the means needed to travel the dimensional veil. He couldn't risk Gina, Ranma, or Brittany getting physically hurt over this, or worse, the man might try to steal his daughter away as a form of punishment for the Divorce.

Marcus watched silently as Pantha and Theo both left, stepping out into the street after them to wave good bye.

"Oh! Honey, have you seen Theo?" his wife came up behind him, curiously peering over his shoulder and down the street, just missing Theo and Pantha as they turned a street and kept going on their merry way. Marcus hmmed, arms crossed while he glanced back at his wife over his shoulder, "Oh, they left on patrol dear. Something wrong?"

Aeila sighed a bit, "Gaja's on the Crystal, he just got done with the Brigands." she stepped back into the house.

"And?" her husband questioned, following after her.

"Misunderstanding he said." the pregnant Jagwere rolled her eyes, "I don't care what might of happened, Tsunami should know better then to attack some one like that. No wonder the rumors going around about that family are so scathing."

"Rumors?" her husband blinked. This was the first he had heard of it! Oh dear, did this mean he wasn't doing his job as a member of the Northern Edge Guard? Information was power, a fact his dear wife had pounded into his head many, many times as she courted him. He wasn't stupid enough to think he wore the pants in this family, but he was okay with that. Having a wife as smart, funny, and domineering as Aeila was the best he could hope for in a mate.

"Just general insanity." she shrugged, "I hadn't put any..."

"Mom?" a tentative soft voice spoke up, followed by a quite rumble.

The woman smiled brightly, "Good morning honey!" that rumble sounded again, to which she smirked knowingly, "Hungry huh? Come on, we can have breakfast with your sibling." she patted her quite distended belly.

Marcus smiled softly, coming up to his slightly shorter wife and whispering, "I'll deal with Gaja, honey." he kissed her cheek, "Scrambled please?" he begged with puppy dog eyes.

Aeila suppressed the urge to twitch, as her son began to quickly mimic her father, crocodile tears forming errily at the same time in both their eyes. She was doomed...

Gaja spared the house behind him a cursory glance, ears twitching as the sounds of much violence picked up in earnest. "Still at it.." he hmmed, turning back to the crystal, "Very well, when you see him next see if he wishes to press charges, and handle the paper work for me, Marcus."

"Sure will!" the man's voice echoed from the crystal cheerfully.

"Very well." the Archmage waved his hand, the glittering crystal guttering out as the magic within was shut down. Raising his hands and uttering another quick incantation, the crystal once again flared to life. For a moment the surface of the crystal showed nothing but darkness. As if God had said let their be light, the darkness faded as the dark cloth it had been wrapped in was pulled away from the crystal on the other end. "Sinicus?"

Sinicus Zaier was young Elven mage of the Elemental Water school. The name Zaier was well known through out the lands, and until recently had been a name of much respect and status, especially among mages. At least, until Jonathan Diggers had made a play for power on the council, a trivial thing that happened quite often with the constantly shifting strength of the Mages currently occupying those positions of Authority. Sinicus's father, Plato had been upsurped from his place on the council, again this wasn't something that would bother most people considering how often it happened. However, Jonathan had some how not only managed to get the aging Elementalist kicked from the council, but thru one odd circumstance or another the man had been mortally embarrased. Jaga didn't know the specifics, aside from the fact it involved some chickens, tar, numerous Crab beetles, those pubic annoyances, and a whole lot of whipped cream.

"Master Gaja." the blue haired elf nodded his head, those always serious gold eyes staring back at the aging Arch Mage dispassionately.

Pursing his lips, the Arch Mage hestitated a moment. Sinicus had no chance to sit on the council as it stood, but like a good father's child he held bitter resentment against the Digger's family for the insult of the older generation. Due to the still lingering embarrasement, the quite talented mage could only get a position servicing the council, as a mail boy no less, instead of actually sitting on it. A momentary debate waged in his mind, considering if Sinicus was spiteful enough to cause trouble, before that thought was shoved to the side. It didn't matter, and he highly doubted Sinicus could turn this to his advantage, especially with Tsunami already being shown the error of his ways, painfully.

"Correspondance to all Mages upon the council." he waited a moment as Sinicus retrieved a writing utensil, nodding for the cat to continue. "Yesterday night Archmage Theodore Diggers was attacked and nearly killed by the Ninja clan of Jade. Tsunami Brigand ordered the attack, in reference to reasoning have them review Article 3b, private section of my personal library withing Durpan."

For all it was worth, Sinicus didn't even twitch as he wrote the name of his most hated rival done. "Is this it, sir?"

"No." Gaja spared the house behind him another glance, momentarily pondering things. "Advise the council Tsunami and the Brigand clan, by Law Advocate 34298 of the Juldian Act are required to pay resitutions to the Edge Guard for their attack on two of my officers. Look over the books, take away the percentage of lands as specified by the act. This isn't including any restitution they would have to pay Archmage Diggers for Tsunamis actions against the man. As of yet, Theodore has not yet come to a descision wether or not to press charges. End Correspondance."

"Very well." the Elf rolled the scroll he had been writing the information on, a flash of bright pink erupting from his hand as the Seal of the Council spell was invoked, sealing the contents to all who would attempt to gain the information therein unless the counter spell was invoked by a member of the council. "If there is nothing else, sir?"

"How's the hunt?" the cat asked cordially. He had time to kill, from the sounds of it Tsunami was still getting his ass beaten.

Sinicus glowered, "She has proven.. most elusive." he stared seriously at the older man, "I do not wish to say more, sir. Crystal Magic is hardly new."

"Yes, yes." the Archmage nodded, "Can't risk people picking up the transmission. Good luck, Sinicus."

"Thank you, sir." the elf said respectfully before the transmission was cut at his end.
