She wasn't exactly a fragile flower though. She was a member of the Pallet Junior School's Soccer Club and was pretty good at the track & field events. She was currently wearing a sailor-style school uniform.
"Who is Ranma?" asked one of her friends for years. Katie, Ryoko remembered. One of those shy book-nerd types, but they'd been friends since kindergarten. "You said that name earlier."
"This is really weird," said Ryoko.
"Does it still hurt? That ball managed to clobber you pretty good," offered Katie.
"It did?" asked Ryoko. "Tell me, Katie, do you know anyone named Ryoga Hibiki?"
"Can't say the name rings a bell," said Katie after thinking for awhile.
"How about Ranma Saotome?" tried Ryoko.
"Is that a boy you're interested in?" asked Katie, speculating with a mischievous gleam in her eyes.
"I guess," said Ryoko, trying to fit in the memories of what had happened as Ryoga along with those of Ryoko. She remembered growing up as Ryoga, but also Ryoko.
He remembered being Ryoga Hibiki, a student of Boar-style Bando with Ranma Saotome his chief rival and weirdness magnet. He remembered growing up without any friends, only finding a way to connect with the world around him through violence. Getting lost constantly otherwise - and only Shirokuro being there for him regularly.
She remembered being Ryoko Henderson, the daughter of Sera Tsuyuzaki and George Henderson. A few friends like Katie, and having to fend off some of the more perverted and forward of the male class. Though she knew enough to know that these were guys who just had come into a bunch of hormones they didn't know what to do with. Some of them had been perfectly all right, though dull or just plain weird, a few years ago.
Katie eyed her friend, trying to figure out who either of these guys were. It was about time Ryoko started noticing guys. It wasn't like either of them got much attention, but that was probably because a few of them remembered Ryoko beating up a bunch of guys earlier in the school year for "inappropriate comments."
Ryoko finally worked out a theory to run with regarding the two sets of memories.
