Mihoshi clapped her hands, smiling at a job well done, before vanishing back into the lamp.
Ranma had halfway expected his memories of this life to completely vanish once he'd heard the words 'Wish Granted', however, things didn't work that well.
The memories of the life of Padme Naberrie-Skywalker were faint and hesitant on the edge of his mind, but the new memories of this particular timeline told him quite glaringly that all it would take was a splash of water, and they'd be nice and clear.
Though even in his male form, there were some things about Padme's life that were easy to recall.
Like her wedding to Anakin Skywalker-- though not the wedding night, for which he was grateful-- or the birth of the twins. He could clearly remember letting Obi-wan take Luke from her arms, and disappear into space. He could remember leaving a sleeping four year old Leia on Alderaan after a close call with an imperial assassin.
He knew damn well what happened when Padme Naberrie-Skywalker had finally gotten out to the Unknown Regions and crash-landed on a backwards planet who called themselves 'dirt', and who's technology was painfully far behind.
He could remember a fight. It was a vague impression, actually, but he knew it happened. He knew that three months before he'd been born, that Padme Naberrie-- weakened from being poisoned by the imperial assassin, had battled an Amazon warrior who thought she was a scout for an invading force from outside the valley.
Predictably, Padme had lost-- eventually falling into the spring that a decade and a half later that he would fall into. It had already been imprinted with the Force signature of a female form. It had no need to imprint Padme's body onto it's own Force signature.
Her thoughts, her memories, everything that made her who she was, on the other hand... they had been locked into that spring. They waited for someone with a strong enough connection to the Force to be able to slip into the mind.
Ranma had been that person, though it had taken many months before Padme's memories and mannerisms began to become visible. It wasn't until after the period where Ranma had thought himself to be female, that he realized he was carrying the memories of a former Senator of the Republic.
