Kaiba opened the door and there stood a man and a teen boy, both with black hair. "Ah, Bruce Wayne. At last we meet. And this must be your ward."
Bruce nodded. "This is Dick Grayson. He'll be staying with you, as we discussed over the phone."
"Understood, though I am curious as to why all of this?"
It was Dick who answered. "Mr. Wayne thought spending time in Japan would be good for my education, as it was for him." Not to mention it gives Bruce a chance to see if you've really turned over a new leaf, Seto Kaiba.
Kaiba smiled. "I do hope this means a possible partnership between Kaiba Corp. and Wayne Enterprises in the future."
Bruce raised an eyebrow. "...Maybe. Your step-father, Gozaburo Kaiba, once tried to take over my family's company."
"That was back when KC made weapons. I've changed all of that. We make games now."
"I also heard a rumor concerning how you acquired your three Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards."
At this, Kaiba hung his head a little. "...I did do some terrible things, but I've changed since then." Since Yugi defeated me with Exodia. God, that seems so long ago now.
"Well, consider this a trial period. If you take good care of Dick, then perhaps our companies could join forces in certain projects." Bruce then checked his watch. "Excuse me, but I have an appointment in a few minutes. I'll stop by later to say goodbye before I head home. Dick, please be on your best behavior."
Dick said his goodbyes to Bruce before Kaiba helped him carry in his luggage. Kaiba then motioned to Negi. This is Negi Springfield of England, one of the other tenants. Negi, meet Dick Grayson from America."
Negi held out his hand. "Pleased to meet you, Dick."
"Likewise," Dick replied, accepting the handshake. "So, have the others arrived yet?"
"Not yet. You and Negi are the first ones to arrive. We're still waiting on... hold on, I got their names written down... ah, here it is! Let's see... Takeru 'TK' Takaishi from Odaiba, and Ranma Saotome from Nerima."
The last name struck a familiar cord with Negi. He had heard a father and son, with the last name Saotome, went to Jusenkyo and fell into the cursed springs, resulting in the father turning into a giant panda and the son turning into a red-haired girl. Negi wondered which this Ranma could be; the father or the son. I'll just have to wait and see... Maybe I can study up on the Jusenkyo curses and find a solid cure.
