Thunder Ken: Aesir Assembled [Episode 130480]

by Kestral

The gods had assembled, looking down on this upstart.

Ranma Mizuno was not exactly the king of the debate clubs. He had been identified as a warrior by Odin, and that was one of the most hopeful bits of this whole scenario. The most hopeful bit was that he hadn't been blasted into subatomic particles or something yet.

So Ranma told of why he'd been searching for something like the hammer, or at least a way to fight.

Those watching thought the boy was showing respect, very important, but was also stressing several things very important to ancient Vikings and their gods. Family was important. Defeating monsters was important. Protecting the lives of your society was darn important and fell into a fairly universal "warrior code" set of behavior.

Forseti spoke. "Because of this boy, this latest ploy has been defeated. Sending him back to face ettin without any means to do so hardly seems just."

Sif spoke, and nobody there discounted her ability to speak at this assembly. After all, anyone who could rein Thor in was certainly respectable and Viking women were frequently warriors themselves. "He seeks excellence in combat techniques and the ability to fight. I can see his past, and he has acquitted himself honorably by the standards of his people."

Others began speaking, each with their own take on the young boy. A couple of valkyries noted he'd make a pretty good einherjar if it came to that. Finally Odin held up a hand to stop the boy and the commentary around him.

"Enough. No one is indicating that the boy has failed to meet high standards. He is a warrior and he has done well, and there is a solution that presents itself."
