Deep within the Hellsing compound, in a damp cellar that looked as if it had been pulled straight from a horror film, a creature of unfathomable power stared into a cup of crimson fluid that was most definitely not wine. Scenes and images of a far-away place danced before his unblinking eyes, and he focused more intently on the face of a cheeky young woman with bright red eyes and strawberry blonde hair.
He chuckled to himself as he watched her pin a muscle-bound fiend three times her size to the ground. She obviously was not in the compound, and he hadn't felt the police girl's presence anywhere in Her Majesty's kingdom.
"Interesting. I haven't encountered such magic in centuries." He sighed, memories of fire and blood and steel flashing through his mind. Those had been the days. Still, while she did not seem to require his aid, he would make sure to keep an eye on the fair young Draculina.
As he watched, she performed a blood ritual over a large and undoubtedly blasphemous artifact, which exploded outwards with immense unnatural energy. The girl seemed in rapture, reveling in her new power. Even across the vast distances in time and space, he could feel his child grow in power. She was almost ready to learn what it truly meant to be a creature of the night.
He laughed as he imagined the response Sir Integra or the Paladin Anderson would have if they had witnessed this.
He chuckled to himself, and put down the chalice of blood. Yes, this could be just what the police girl needed. After all, he could not force her to accept what she had become. Whether she embraced vampirism and lived or rushed headlong towards oblivion was of her own choosing. Time would tell.
He clapped his hands together in front of him and stood to his full height, his coat tails flapping behind him. His own master would have questions no doubt, but he could deal with that later. Right now, he needed to see a man about a gun...
