Ash frowned a bit, as he answered, "Well, no. Why do you ask?"
"Pokeballs could get mixed up. You might find a way to mark all of them. I really don't want to get lost in a shuffle."
Ash thought about it for a bit and nodded. "I think there are stickers that I can buy at a Pokemon Mart. Do you mind if I use your symbol as the basis of the stickers?"
Supergirl blinked a bit, as she looked down at her chest. She laughed a bit, as she understood the request.
"The S-shield? Go ahead. We're a team, aren't we?" Supergirl replied, and thought. 'Cousin Kal would laugh if he saw me now, but I don't really mind. Kal has his Fortress, and I have that Pokeball.'
Supergirl looked up into the sky and pointed at something. Ash and Poliwag also looked up. Flying off towards the mountains was a glittering, golden bird.
Ash pointed his Pokedex at the bird. "What's that?"
"Pokemon Species: Unidentified. There are still many Pokemon that have yet to be discovered," Dexter said.
Supergirl thought to herself in wry amusement, 'I was one of the undiscovered ones.'
The golden Pokemon vanished; leaving a trio of awe struck beings.
Supergirl said, "That bird was beautiful. I hope we see it again, before I leave."
Ash and Poliwag nodded.
Ash shook his head and stated, "It's time to hit the road again."
Ash recalled his two Pokemon and started walking to Viridian City.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Inside her Pokeball, Kara had used her X-ray vision to examine her home and the empty Pokeballs that Ash was also carrying. She frowned, as she saw the huge differences between her Pokeball and basic Pokeballs.
"My 'home' has an impressive capture mechanism in place. Or it did, until it bonded itself to me."
Kara closed her eyes and felt a pleasant hum go throughout her body. "There is also that. It makes staying in here an enjoyable experience."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Walking along the road, Ash spotted a red-haired girl fishing in the river that fed the lake he gained his Poliwag. His curiosity overcame him, and approached the girl.
Ash asked, "Have you caught anything?"
The girl looked up and scowled at Ash. "No. I think this river has no Pokemon in it."
Ash released his Poliwag and said, "I'm not sure about that. I caught this Poliwag in the lake just downriver. By the way, my name's Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town."
"My name is Misty," the girl replied, staring at the Poliwag with some longing.
Ash recalled Poliwag. "Maybe you're fishing in the wrong spot."
Misty shrugged. "Maybe. Pallet Town? You're a beginning Trainer? How many Pokemon do you have?"
"Yes. Today is the first day of my Pokemon journey. I only have two Pokemon. I'm off to get my first Gym badge."
Misty said. "You won't get one from the Viridian Gym at the moment. They're closed for renovations. You'll have to wait a month."
"A month?!" Ash exclaimed. "I can't wait a month."
Misty said in a smart-aleck tone. "Well, you could go after other badges until Viridian Gym re-opens. Pewter City right on the other side of Viridian Forest has a Gym."
Waving his hand behind him, Ash called out, "Thanks. I have to stop in Viridian first anyway."
Misty looked at her fishing pole and went back to fishing. She took a glance over at her bike and grinned.
'I can catch up with him later.'
Ash made it to Viridian City and found the Pokemon Mart. He explained the design that he wanted and picked up a roll of two hundred-fifty S-shield stickers. Finding the nearest Pokemon Center, he gave his Pokemon to Nurse Joy and waited. While doing so, he labeled all ten of his empty Pokeballs.
"Professor Oak was kind enough to give me ten normal Pokeballs and this white Premier Ball. Professor Oak. I should call him."
Ash jumped up and used the phones in the Pokemon Center to call Pallet Town. Professor Oak answered.
"Ash, it's good to see you. How is your um Pokemon doing?"
Ash replied, "Both of my Pokemon are doing fine. By the way, we all saw a Pokemon that looks like that engraving there."
Professor Oak laughed. "You couldn't have seen that Pokemon. People have been hunting for it for years without a trace. You said both. Does that mean you've caught another Pokemon?"
Ash let the matter of the golden bird drop, as he replied, "Yes: a Poliwag. I would like to challenge the Viridian Gym, but...."
"The Viridian City Gym is closed for the month to make repairs," Oak finished. "There are other Gyms. By the way, about your starter..."
"What is it?
Professor Oak laughed. "It's just that you're Pokemon is the subject of much speculation. Human looking, but from another dimension. You'll be sought out, just to see the rare Pokemon"
Ash and Professor Oak continued chatting.
While the two were talking, Misty had shown up at the Center and turned her Pokeballs over to Nurse Joy. Joy took the three Pokeballs and nodded. She took Ash's two Pokeballs from the recharging unit.
Nurse Joy came up and said, "Your Pokemon are fully restored. You'll have to spend the night here. The curtains are about to come down."
Ash thanked Nurse Joy, took his Pokeballs and applied the stickers to them. "I'll talk to you later, Professor."
"Later Ash."
Misty came over to Ash and asked, "What did he mean that your starter Pokemon is different?"
Ash replied, "Later. I'm going to bed."
