About the only problem with that was that she was currently a dog, and no one would take an animal barking on the six o'clock news seriously.
Oh, and the group of rather large, fat and green guys standing over, licking their lips, were not a good thing either.
Of course, that would all fit into her story. She'd already found all sorts of leads on that 'citadel' thing, and it had gotten even bigger as she'd arrived at this fake 'haven' of theirs. Apparently, monster attacks were common, and they had roaming... inhuman things wandering around. Then she came across some of the invaders attacking the supposedly safe place they had there, which included the bunch looking for some dog stew.
Though, the arrows that whistled in on their way to spearing the green guys through kind of dampened any dinner plans.
"I do not think that you will find this a good place to sup," commented a beautiful blonde with pointed ears as she stood still in the position where she'd shot off her arrows.
Grunts of anger came back at her, and several of the creatures came forward before a really big sword rocketed down and pierced the ground in front of them. A muscular looking redhead smiled at them as she easily pulled it free and hefted the weapon.
Following that was the sudden crashing of several of the creatures as something quick and deadly hit them. A figure leapt away from them wielding a pair of lethal looking blades, and the brunette woman cocked a brow in the invaders' direction.
The creatures attacked, and the battle lasted only a little bit... since they hadn't really considered the fact that only a tiny portion of their original group was still standing.
"Come here little puppy," said the quick one as she scooped the dog up, "We'll find where your kennel is and return you."
Her words had the reporter sniffing in disdain and wondering what she should say about the display that she'd just seen.
To many, what Chizuko had gone through would have terrified them completely. After all, she'd been going to a new world, nearly fell to her death, had to deal with tons of new creatures, and wound up in a place where she'd drunk herself into slumber. But she was actually rather happy with the whole situation. She was getting to meet new people, try new foods, and, other than the fact that there were bad guys outside, the inn was proving to be a lot of fun in and of itself. There had even been a chocobo ride in the deal.
The last part did have an interesting consequence. In the hustle and bustle of their travelling by chocobo, a herd of them had run over an enemy. That wasn't a bad thing by any means, but it did have one unintended result. An orphaned chocobo had gotten separated from the others, and had gotten lost. That was a scary thing for any youngster, but in the current situation, it was really bad. So, it was only natural that it had looked for a safe haven.
It had found such a place in the inn, and it had wandered around for a spot to rest. Following a bit of searching, it had found a place right next to the sleeping girl. Such a discovery was good, since she'd seemed so nice back on the ranch. She might be sleeping at the moment, but she was a symbol of safety.
What it had planned on was to simply lay next to her, but she'd had other plans. When instinct had noted 'chocobo, one, little, alone', she'd pulled it into her slumbering embrace and held it next to her in a protective hug. Once it got over its surprise, it had settled down to the warm hold, and nestled into what was an obvious cuddle.
At that moment, the two of them looked to be a rather cute sight, while:
