”Why would a Mafia Family give Columbian Cartels backing for Metal Gear?”
”From what I can tell their main source of running drugs in and out of the country got cut off, and they figure helping the Cartels get the money to build a Metal Gear in exchange for helping get their drugs in is a small price.”
”Why not just build their own Metal Gear?” Otacon asked.
”Seems the head of the family doesn’t want to personally fool with a nuclear tank but doesn’t mind associating with those who do. Drugs seem to be their bag.” Snake replied as he went over Clark’s notes.
”Who is the head of the family?”
Snake’s eyes scrolled down to look and they widened a bit. “Iron fuckin’ Goldie! Oh Christ I was hoping never to run into her again.”
”You’ve met her before?” His partner/informant inquired.
”A freelance job I did just before Zanzibar Land; my job also ended up messing up a big drug deal she had going down. Didn’t help she had just become Don of her family, and the set back probably kept her from snaking into the big wigs for awhile.”
”Is there anyone on this planet you haven’t pissed off yet Snake?” Otacon joked, although with some dry seriousness in his tone.
“I lost count after Outer Heaven; in any case it seems these guys are operating in Chicago right now.” Snake re-read a few lines of the notes. “According to rumors, the Metal Gear is amphibious, a rip-off of a design that the Marine Corps is supposedly working on.”
”Speaking of which I’ve got a bite on that one. I’ll let you know when I learn more about it.” Otacon informed; even if their own country was making a Metal Gear, the only good Metal Gear to them was a destroyed one.
“Alright you keep looking into that one; meanwhile I’m heading for Chicago to get the goods on these drug runners.”
”What do you plan to do if you find Metal Gear with them?”
“If I can, blow it up and them along with it. I can’t stand drug dealers. Seen too many people die cuz of that crap, or totally screw up their lives with it.” Snake replied in a too-honest tone. “Those scumbags make their money off the misery of others and those are another type of people I can’t stand.”
”I agree, why mess yourself up with drugs when legalized things like smoking and drinking too much can do it for you. The former Metal Gear engineer laughed.
”If that was a hint, a joke or both I didn’t find it funny Otacon…”
