Too bad Rally Vincent was here on a “job” or she’d have taken part of more than some finger-foods and a glass of tea. She opted to not have coffee because too much caffeine can make your hands shaky and that wasn’t something you wanted when you want to hold a gun.
Why she was here? Goldie or more precisely information on Goldie, Becky had uncovered word of a new drug on the street called Powerball which was a street name for Kerasonin Citrasine, or better known as Kerasine Two; an upgrade of Goldie’s previous product. That was enough to get Rally’s attention, if Goldie was reintroducing her products on the Chicago streets, it could mean either she was coming back to settle things as promised; or she just wanted to mess with her.
Rally knew in her gut it was the former; only this time she was going to be ready. Hence why Minnie May and she had snuck into this high society shin-dig. Becky had also uncovered word that a Columbian Cartel was helping Goldie get her drugs into the country and spread about since her normal means of entry and delivery were hosed, (partially due to Rally’s doing) and that their best bet to get any solid information would be to sneakily crash the party and get the 411 from the shark’s mouth directly.
”Still, I wish I didn’t have to wear this outfit.” She grumbled in irritation. Because of the dress code and the fact her own business suit was still at the cleaners, Rally was forced to wear a very appealing black cocktail dress and…grrr high heels! She HATED but the dress code stated she needed them or out the door.
“Hey you’re the one who just had to come here.” Came a voice from the side; Rally turned her head to spot her partner Minnie May Hopkins. The petite childish sized blonde was wearing a vanilla white gown that seemed like a cross between Victorian and pre-Civil War Southern Belle. While Rally was a tomboy in her dress style, May could do the full feminine attire and pull it off like a pro.
May smiled and held up her dress as she did a mock curtsey. “Aw C’mon Rally its not that bad is it? How often do we get to dress up this good?”
“If I had my way, not once, not ever,” The Indian skinned woman pouted.
“Oh don’t be such a sourpuss! So you had to wear something that was hard to conceal your CZ-75, so what this is an info gaining mission, so avoiding a gunfight is what we’re supposed to do right?” The bombshell blonde stated; in a low tone so the other guests wouldn’t overhear.
”Since when have we ever avoided a firefight?” Rally asked with a raised eyebrow.
Now it was May’s turn to sag. “I’d say never.”
”That’s my point entirely.”
”Okay, okay Rally wins this round, so have you spotted the target yet?”
“Yep over there.” Rally pointed to a man talking with several middle aged men. “Pablo Escobar, the 2nd Man to the Cartel kingpin’s operation, he’s the best source to find out how connected with Goldie they are and if she’s coming back to Chicago to personally oversee her new drugs being pumped onto the streets.”
May nodded, murmuring softly, “As much as I’d love to get some personal payback I hope she stays in Italy.” After all that Goldie cost them, lives, and livelihood included…one couldn’t blame the bomb freak for being apprehensive.
Rally didn’t reply to that, she was too mixed on that issue, if Goldie did come, payback time as high as the bar would go. If Goldie stayed put, no loss, life goes on. “As soon as he goes off by himself we make a move.”
”Got’cha Rally, so tell me any cute guys try to pick you up yet?”
”May!”
”I’m serious girl you’ve been dateless too damn long.”
