Ash looked up and back. "Why are you following me?"
Misty smiled, "I want to see your Pokemon in action against a Gym Leader."
Ash rolled his eyes upward and kept walking.
"I need to get some more Pokemon," he muttered to himself. "I have a Water Pokemon and Steel/Flying Pokemon. I need something that can cover their weaknesses."
Before Misty could respond to her overhearing of Ash's mumbling, a small yellow creature dashed out from one side of the path. Ash quickly pointed his Pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Pikachu: The Electric Mouse Pokemon. These Pokemon can generate electrical power through their cheeks and..."
Ash closed the Pokedex and released Supergirl from her Pokeball.
Pointing at the Pikachu, Ash said, "Ice Beam!"
Supergirl concentrated on her super-breath to make it as cold as possible. The Pikachu was hit by the arctic winds and stumbled. Pikachu glared at Supergirl and let loose a Thundershock that caused immense pain to Supergirl.
'Ow! That hurt! How?'
Kara ignored the pain and followed Ash's next command of using Extremespeed to hit Pikachu. Before the mouse could recover, Ash launched a Pokeball at it. Supergirl watched in morbid fascination, as the ball rocked back and forth several times, while the light kept blinking. A few tense moments later, the light went out and a mechanical whooshing sound was heard.
Kara thought, 'So that's what that sound was. My Pokeball capturing me.'
Kara walked up to Ash and rubbed her shoulder where the lightning had struck her. Seeing that Misty was with him, Kara stayed in Pokespeech.
Pointing at where she was struck, Kara said, "Supergirl-supergirl-super?" Ash said, "Sorry, Supergirl. I forgot that you're Steel/Flying and Flying is weak against Electrical attacks."
Kara just smiled at Ash and shook her head. She watched as Ash picked up the new Pokeball and went into a stance.
"I've caught a Pikachu!"
Still rubbing her shoulder, Supergirl gave an amused snort and quickly scanned a public library on Pokemon traits with her vision powers. She frowned, as she read one passage.
'The mark of a good Trainer is the ability to feel what his or her Pokemon is feeling?' Supergirl thought confused. 'I can see understanding your Pokemon's emotions, but the way that was worded.... Well, it's probably nothing. So, my new weaknesses are Fire and Electrical attacks generated by Pokemon.'
Supergirl walked in front of Ash and pointed at her Pokeball. She saw that Ash wasn't too dense, as he recalled her back into her Pokeball.
Supergirl thought, 'Somehow I have to find a way to talk to Ash without being overheard by that girl. Catching small cute animals? It's kind of fun and relaxing. I do wonder if there are any more Pokemon thieves? I do appreciate that Ash did apologize for the 'ruining' of my vacation and praise after I'd stopped Team Rocket.'
