"Proof of extraterrestrials!"
"..."
The archeology team grumbled as they booted out the self proclaimed alien hunter before he broke anything important. Honestly, what kind of nut was this Oswald anyway?
"Since he's the expert on ancient languages, we requested Professor Spencer Hale to come as soon as he can," Lucia Franklin reported, suppressing a grin. Who knew her first time out would be this exciting?
"We also sent word to the Academy of Science and Professor Samuel Oak volunteered to check on us."
One of the older archeologists, Professor Benz, grunted in acknowledgement, gazing at the camp. "When will they be arriving?"
"Professor Hale will arrive in a few days. Professor Oak will arrive within the hour," Lucia said. "Officer Jenny is escorting him here now."
"Hmph, might as well get back to work then," Professor Benz replied. About time those kids finished setting up the generators.
"Chevron four encoded."
"Testing, testing," Daniel frowned, adjusting his headset's volume before fastening the Hazmat suit's hood over his head.
"Are you ready, SG-1?" General Hammond's voiced over the PA, watching the team make their final adjustments.
"Chevron five encoded."
"Yes, sir," Carter's voice responded through the radio.
One of the suited individuals gave thumbs up to the control room. "We'll be sure to bring back a souvenir, General," O'Neill grinned, though it wasn't very obvious beneath the suit.
"Chevron six encoded."
"Very well then. Good luck, team," Hammond replied, smiling slightly.
Teal'c watched the final set of chevrons light up, his staff weapon standing ready.
"Chevron seven, locked!"
Eve paused, looking around hesitantly as a weak tremor nearly knocked over one of the lights. "Anyone else feel that?"
