Ash let out a deep breath as he and Jiro made their way back to Pewter City. He shook his head as he thought about Jiro's two Pokemon and what happened with Supergirl. He covered his mouth with his right fist and sighed.
"What's the problem Ash?" Jiro asked.
"Nothing important. It's just that my team is currently weak against certain Pokemon types. Ground being the big one at the moment."
"A Grass Pokemon or maybe an Ice one," Jiro said. "Doesn't matter to me, I want to run a Rock Pokemon gym."
"Well, You've got a good start with Rhyhorn and whatever that tree like thing is," Ash replied and then shook his head.
Ash called forth the Poliwag and Pikachu he had captured.
"Your name is Jean Luc and he is named Aquan," Ash said as he pointed to the Pikachu first and then jerked his thumb in the direction of the Poliwag.
Following behind the two boys, Misty asked, "What about Supergirl?"
"I want to get her healed up first before I give her a nickname," Ash replied as he recalled the two Pokemon back into their balls. "Jiro? Why do want to be a Gym Leader? You'll keep being beat by various trainers."
"Not completely. Gym Leaders test various trainers so that when the contest at the Indigo Plateau happens, the contestants know how to use their Pokemon wisely and there won't be any accidents. Certain Gym Leaders tend to forget that."
Before anything more could be said, a large rock snake appeared before the three.
"I almost forgot that they would be here as well," Ash commented as he was about to toss a Pokeball out.
Before he could, Jiro tossed out one of the teo Pokemon that he now had.
"Sudowoodo! Go!" Jiro yelled.
"Do you know what that thing can do?" Ash asked.
"No, but I'm going to try and find out," Jiro replied.
Ash pulled out his Pokedex and tapped a few buttons and handed it to Jiro.
"This should help," Ash said.
Jiro nodded and looked at the screen as moves came up.
"Low Kick!" Jiro ordered.
The strange tree like Pokemon quickly moved and snapped a kick at the Onix. The Onix reeled in pain at the blow.
"Faint Attack!"
The Sudowoodo did something and the Onix was tricked into looking away before being stuck again by the rock tree Pokemon. Ash handed a Pokeball to Jiro and waited.
"Pokeball, go!" Jiro yelled, as he tossed the Pokeball at the Onix.
The ball hit and turned the Onix into red light before closing and started shaking on the ground. After a few seconds the shaking stopped and a whooshing sound was heard.
"I did it," Jiro whispered. "I managed to get a Pokemon on my own."
"And, you also got a third Rock Pokemon,' Ash said. "Let's get back. I think you have enough Rock Pokemon now to take over for your brother."
"Thanks Ash," Jiro said as he returned the Pokedex to Ash.
"Don't worry about it. I almost wasn't able to achieve my dream. Remember?"
The three managed to get back to Pewter City without any further incidents and made their way to the Pokemon Center. After getting all their Pokemon healed up Ash released his three.
"Jean Luc and Aquan, this is Kara. Kara this is Jean Luc and Aquan," Ash said as he pointed to each Pokemon as he named them. That takes care of the nicknames. Now, I need to get some seals for my Pokeballs. Jiro, I'll meet you by that guy selling boulders."
Ash quickly recalled the three Pokemon and headed to the store and found that they were selling designer stickers for Pokeballs. He used the provided markers and drew the S shield inside a blue circle as the sticker to use for his Pokeball stickers. He paid for the stickers had a case nearing the S shield on the top give to him. After storing the case, he labeled the three active Pokeballs. After leaving the store but before he made it to the boulder selling man, Ash took a deep breath and nodded to himself.
"Kara? Sorry about the abruptness of that stunt with your name, but I wanted to get that out of the way so that I don't make mistakes," Ash whispered. "I'll get the Apricorns to you later."
"I understood what you were doing, so there is no need to apologize, but thanks anyway," Kara's voice said to him.
Ash nodded and then thought to himself, "I've been thinking clearer than I have been and I'm able to remember stuff far easier. I wonder what's causing that."
Ash shook his head and quickly met up with Jiro.
"Shall we meet up with your brother and see if he'll turn over the running of the gym to you?" Ash asked.
"Yes. I think that Sudowoodo will be a big surprise to him," Jiro said. "By the way Ash, the reason it could pull off that attack against your Pokemon was because Sudowoodo knows Mimic. It can copy the attacking move of an opposing Pokemon."
"Neat trick."
"Yep."
Inside the Pokeball, Kara was listening to the conversation and laughed to herself.
"My own heat vision fired back at me? Well, I was told I'd be susceptible to Fire based Pokemon attacks."
Kara shook her head and thought about the healing machine in the Pokecenter.
"It healed me completely, but it also felt like I took a bath or shower and my outfit was cleaned as well. Hmm? Sounds like Jiro and Ash are about ready to talk to Brock," Kara said to herself.
Outside the Pokeball, Ash and Jiro were indeed meeting with Brock.
"Hey Big Brother, take a look at these three Pokemon Ash helped me get," Jiro said as he release the three Pokemon.
Brock looked at the three Pokemon and nodded at the first two and then looked at the strange tree.
"Jiro? I thought you wanted Rock Pokemon. That looks like a Grass Pokemon," Brock said.
"It is a Rock Pokemon. It just looks like a Grass Pokemon," Jiro said.
"Well. Three Rock Pokemon? Hmm? And what are you going to do with them?" Brock asked.
"I want to take over the Gym from you. That should reduce some of your workload," Jiro said. "Maybe you can try being a Pokemon Breeder now."
"I see. I still need to take care of all your siblings. It's still going to be hard," Brock said.
"No, it will not," a voice said.
Everyone looked in the direction of the voice and saw the man who was selling souvenir boulders. The man removed his hat and shades. He appeared to be an older version of Brock.
"Father," Brock stated coldly.
"Yes. It's me. Your father Flint. You should follow your own dreams. Ash there helped Jiro achieve his dream. I can do no less than help you achieve yours. So, I intend to do what I should have been doing since the beginning"
Brock stared at his father with a cold look on his face. "I have some things to say to you."
"Get it out of your system. I can take it," Flint said.
Brock held up a needle and some thread and started going off on the things that his siblings were used to during his raising of them. Flint looked like he was having a breakdown as he tried to write everything down on a notepad.
"Slow down. I cant write that fast," Flint said.
Ash walked away and leaned against a tree and started chuckling.
"We brought a family back together and helped two people on their way to achieve their own dreams," Ash said laughing.
After the drama was over, Ash started headed in the direction of Mount Moon. He looked and saw that Brock and Misty were on either side of him.
"Hope you don't mind having some company," Brock said. "You did make some enemies back in Viridian City."
"Team Rocket was arrested. Why should I fear them?" Ask asked.
"That was only one team of Team Rocket," Brock said. "There are more than one team in that organization."
"Ah. What about you Misty?"
"I'm from Cerulean City and this is the way to it."
