Strange Pokemon: Helping Jiro [Episode 133538]

by Disruptor

As soon as Ash woke up, an idea came to him. He quickly hunted for Brock's brother Jiro. Ash spotted Jiro sitting on a boulder and looking towards the forest.

"Jiro, right?" Ash asked.

"Yes. What do you want?"

Ash took a moment to collect his thoughts, before speaking. "Brock can't leave the Gym, but you can. I can help you catch a couple of Rock Pokemon."

Jiro replied, "That still leaves Big Brother with the job of watching over all of us."

"I can't help with that," Ash said. "All I can do is help you get a couple of Rock Pokemon."

"Thank you. I'll tell Brock what's going on? I'll meet you at the exit."

Ash nodded and walked over to where a man was selling boulders. He shook his head in amusement.

'Why would I want to buy a boulder?' Ash thought. 'For some reason, my mind seems clearer.'

A bearded man, wearing a hat said. "I sell only the finest souvenir rocks of Pewter City."

Ash said, "I'm not buying. I'm waiting for Jiro, the younger brother of the Pewter Gym Leader."

The man cocked his head to one side. "Oh? Why?"

Ash shrugged. "Brock wants to be a Pokemon Breeder and Jiro wants to become a Gym Leader. I intend to help Jiro catch two or three Rock Pokemon, so he can take over the Gym. At least this way, Brock will have a bit less to do."

Before any more could be said, Jiro came running up. "Brock said that it would be all right for you to help me. I'd like to go after a Rhyhorn and maybe a Geodude."

Ash nodded. "Where is the closest place to get a Rhyhorn."

The man selling boulders said, "If you travel west for a day, you'll be near where a group of Rhyhorn make their homes. There are no Geodude however. You can find Onix though."

Ash rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. "I guess a Rhyhorn and an Onix will work."

As soon as the two boys left, Misty came riding up on her bike. She spotted Ash and Jiro heading westwards. She found the Pokemon Center and asked Nurse Joy to look after her bike, while she was going into the mountains. After getting that assurance, Misty quickly chased after the two boys.

"I do want to see that Pokemon of Ash's in action again," Misty muttered to herself.

She soon caught up with the two boys, as they headed towards the nearby mountain. She overheard the conversation between Ash and Jiro.

Jiro said, "That man selling boulders seem familiar."

"He's weird if you ask me," Ash replied. "The rocks he's selling are way too big to be carried as a souvenir."

Ash glanced over his shoulder and saw Misty following them. He shook his head and gazed upwards in exasperation. As the trio walked on, they spotted a pair of strange trees. One had large green nuts growing on it and the other had blue nuts

"What are those?" Misty asked.

Jiro replied, "I think they are called Apricorn Trees. I think you can do something with them, but I'm not sure what."

Ash didn't say a word, as he gathered five blue Apricorns and seven green Apricorns. The three of them made camp underneath the Apricorn trees and waited for morning. When they woke up, they noticed a tree in between the two Apricorn trees. Jiro and the others quickly moved away from the tree.

Misty said, "That tree wasn't there before."

"I know," Ash said, as he released Supergirl from her Pokeball.

Supergirl looked at the tree that had caught the trio's attention and saw that it was moving a bit. After a moment, it dropped some branches and looked like it was ready for a fight.

"Supergirl, use your Fire vision attack," Ash called.

Supergirl used her heat vision on the 'tree'. Everyone was shocked that the fire attack didn't do too much to the tree.

"Sudowoodo," the strange Pokemon cried, as two crimson beams shot out from its eyes and stuck Supergirl in the stomach.

Supergirl doubled over in mid flight from the pain of the heat vision striking her, and did her best to suppress a cry.

"Supergirl," she muttered. 'Okay. Extreme pain and shock cause me to slip into Pokemon speaking mode. How could it use heat vision."

Ash did some quick thinking and called out a different attack.

"Supergirl, try Mach Punch!"

Shaking off the pain, Supergirl flew forwards and stuck the tree with a punch. As soon as she saw the tree's eyes start to glow red; she dodged out of the way of the next heat vision attack. Ash opened his Pokedex and did some quick checking on Supergirl's attacks. He bit his lower lip and decided to try a different one.

"Use Metal Claw."

Hearing the attack, Supergirl slammed her hand, while holding it in a claw shape, against Sudowoodo.

Ash said, "Jiro use one of those Pokeballs I gave you."

Jiro tossed a Pokeball at the strange tree-like Pokemon and all watched as it was drawn into the ball and successfully captured. Supergirl landed next to Ash and sank to her knees, and holding her stomach. Seeing his starter Pokemon in pain, Ash used some potions to bring Supergirl back up to full health.

Jiro asked, "Why did you have me catch this Pokemon, Ash?"

Ash sighed and explained. "It's resistant to Fire and weak against Fighting and Steel. Steel is strong against Ice and Rock. I don't think that tree-Pokemon is an Ice Pokemon. I just have no idea how it was able to launch the same type of Fire attack that Supergirl could. Let's get your Rhyhorn and get back to Pewter City."

After the tree incident, Ash and company were able to find a Rhyhorn that had gotten separated from its herd and with Ash and Supergirl's help, Jiro was easily able to capture it. On the way back to Pewter City, Ash had a private conversation with Supergirl via whispers and super-ventriloquism.

"Kara? Are you okay from having your own attack thrown back at you?" Ash whispered.

"It hurt badly. But that liquid you gave me stopped the pain. Just so you know, my Fire attack is called heat vision."

"Thanks. I was wondering. I do have a dozen Apricorns that you can begin work with."

"I'll get one the next time I'm released. You did a good thing helping Jiro get his own Pokemon."

Ash whispered, "Thanks, Kara. It was only right. You allowed yourself to become my Pokemon, so I could work on my dream. I should help someone else achieve theirs."

Kara said, "Good for you. Now, please leave me alone until after you get me restored at a Pokemon Center. That Sudowoodo creature took a lot more out of me than I thought."

"I'll talk to you later."

Kara thought with amusement, 'I guess I'm a good influence on him.'
