For they appeared in the lab of explorer/archeologist/treasure-hunter, and babelicious super genius Gina Diggers!
Now since long-ago attack inside her lab by a certain bastardeous, talking black dog, Gina went all out to beef up her lab’s security considerably and even went as far as to equip her Hurtbots with weapons even certain alien races wouldn’t certify as legal! Now while Gina had downgraded the weapons of the Hurtbots after the incident with the evil Djinn bitch Madrid, since the Djinn used her own security systems and Hurtbots to her own ends.
Regardless though, security was still uber-tight, and the Hurtbots while no longer totting Beta-tech weapons, still were not a force to underestimate.
If Tex could she would be sweating as the platoon of Hurtbots surrounded her and Donut, weapons of the painful kind of various types transforming from panels within the machines. “Oh crap-in-a-hat…”
”Halt intruders, lay down your weapons and no harm sha-“ The Hurbot was cut off as Donut dropped his side arm and threw himself at the feet of the lead Hurtbot.
”PLLLLLLLLEASE! Save me! She’s crazy and trying to kill me!”
The lead Hurtbot felt a glitch in its circuits, almost making it mimic a human ‘face-fault’.
”Pink intruder has discarded firearm, and has assumed begging position; threat neutralized, but keep under observation and detain. Black target has not complied yet and shows no signs of complying; begin beat-down protocol H.U.R.T.-E.M.-B.A.D.”
”Whoa, wait a God damned min-YARGH!” Tex wasn’t able to get another word out as all but the lead, and two other Hurtbots dog piled her and began to beat her senseless with their fists. Also did I mention said fists are being charged with very painful plasma-dischargers?
Suddenly another door leading into the lab section swished open as a tall blonde with catish-ears, a black eye stripe, and wearing powered armor, carrying a BFG rushed in. “Where’s the intruders? Limme at em’! I’ll blast em’ to kingdom co-…aw fudge, the Hurtbots got em’.” She grumbled in annoyance. She wanted to test her new armor and gun, but the damn robots got to the bad guys first!
