Prince Ranma: Off From Candidacy [Episode 135635]

Ranma waved that off. "Yeah, yeah, ya know your jobs, just get to it. I'm thinking of taking a look at some of these bridal candidates. I still ain't sure this is a good idea."

"You aren't?" the dwarf asked.

"Well, of course not. I mean, they've made me the prize for a whole bunch of girls who don't even really know me, and probably only want what I can give 'em."

"Then why not just refuse the whole thing?"

"Can't," the prince replied. "If I do, then I'll not only hurt the candidates, but I'll offend everyone who helped to set it up. 'Sides, I haven't even really seen 'em yet."

"Doesn't matter. You could still do it."

"No, I couldn't."

The dwarf watched the prince walk away, and shrugged to himself. Obviously the boy was a bit of a softie, and as such, would not be able to be as hard as some. Not that it would be a problem, compared to the occassional nasty warlord. But if he wouldn't get rid of the situation, then perhaps he could realise that he could introduce himself and get to know each and every candidate.

But that was the Prince's problem, and there was other work to be done.

Those who had seen their leader leave had little problem with him doing so. It wasn't so much that he'd helped to defeat the monster that threatened everyone, but that he wasn't like some royals. With them, self righteous nobles would go around micromanaging everything, even when they had clearly no idea of what they were talking about. At least the Prince had the sense of mind to admit that such works were not his forte.
