Ranma snapped awake then, remembering the threat that they would have to deal with soon. It took a moment for Ranma to realize that she was standing up off of a beach and that she was currently female. Other things were on her mind.
Like how the sky above her was not even close to the map of stars she knew so well from her travels.
"Where are we?" Ranma asked. "What happened?"
"I'm not exactly sure," the young man that had woken her up said, somewhat edgily, but Ranma figured that was to be expected given everything that happened. "But there was something out in the water a little bit ago, and I don't think it was friendly."
Ranma nodded, looking around to see several other people waking up already and looking around. She turned away from the sea and saw a stretch of forest beyond, with the shadows of old buildings vaguely visible.
"Head that way," Ranma shouted as she started waking people up as well.
Ranma spared only a moment to look at the body that had replaced her female form before getting back to the task at hand. The transformation that had worked on her was:
