'Another lovely morning,' Keitaro thought happily while he swept the front porch of the Hinata-sou. Since the day everyone returned from Pararakerusu Island, everything was going well for the soon-to-be Toudai freshman. 'At this rate, I don't think my luck will ever go bad aga--'
"Hey, everyone, a dragon has taken over some part of Tokyo and seems to be guarding some boy!" Mitsune shouted, interrupting his thoughts as she sped past the kanrinin and into the inn, causing him to spin like a top before collapsing dizzily to the ground.
"What?!" Keitaro shouted, adjusting his glasses as he ran inside. His question, though, was drowned out by the reactions coming from the other residents, all of whom were in the livingroom.
"Are you joking, Kitsune?"
"Auugh! It's going to eat us all!"
"Let's use Keitaro as a sacrifice for the dragon!"
"NO!"
"Ara?"
"This beast you talk of, where does it reside?"
"Dragon? Is it delicious?"
"Maybe Shinobu can cook some dragon meat if one of us catches it!"
"Auugh! I don't know how to make food using dragon meat!"
Slamming her hand against the table, Haruka looked around to see if that got everyone else's attention. "Now, then," she said, cigarette dangling form the corner of her mouth as she eyed Mitsune, "is what you said true, Kitsune?" With the other girl nodding, she asked, "Where did you find out?" and was handed a flyer.
With everyone crowding around Haruka, she read the contents aloud. "Within Nerima lies a sleeping prince, Ranma Saotome. Guarded by the fierce scarlet dragon, Akane Tendou, the only way to break the spell is for a princess or one of noble descent to kiss him. A warning to those who will try: All who fail at this quest shall become part of the castle's furniture or defense."
"So this dragon does exist," Motoko said as she clutched onto her sheathed sword. 'Finally, an opportunity to see how much my skills have improved.'
"Wait!" Naru shouted, wanting to intervene before another commotion could start. Still skeptical about the announcement, she was surprised at how fast the others were willing to take it at face value. "How do we know that what's on the paper is true and not some elaborate hoax? What if there's no dragon in Nerima?"
Hand upon her chin in thought, Suu raised it and exclaimed, "I know!" bringing out a miniature version of Tama-chan that also had a small camera atop it's head. On her other hand she had what seemed to be a control box. "Mecha-Tama 4.01, GO!" The girl let go of the robotic turtle, which, after giving a sole chirp, flew out the window.
Meanwhile, Suu ran to the TV and, after adjusting it's antenna accordingly, turned it on. Displaying on the screen was the area Mecha-Tama 4.01 was currently in. "Now we can find out!" she said, smiling broadly as she set the machine's route.
