There was a ship sitting in near-Mars orbit where talks were being held, televised events were underway, and this was raising a few eyebrows that the decades-old introduction of the gynoids and older appearance of the Tribals had not.
This was because the K'nnari were not human in appearance. They had no desire to conquer Earth, and they couldn't even LIVE on Earth. Too cold. Much too cold. Atmosphere was poisonous too.
What they COULD use were some of the materials humans could trade for - particularly things like rubber that were perfectly fine in space.
The K'nnari pointed out the quantum shift, the gravitational anomalies, and the increased lepton count to their hosts and asked exactly what the humans were shifting around on that island and didn't they know how dangerous that was.
The human authorities promised the rock-aliens that they knew what they were doing. Then quietly sent messages back home asking what the heck was going on in Okayama of all places?!
"RANMA! STOP THAT!"
Five minutes ago - Ranma had just grabbed his bowl and leapt back out of his father's reach. Then he'd realized he'd just leapt entirely off the rooftop. It took him a few seconds to realize he wasn't falling.
Which led to Genma trying to get Ranma to bring his food bowl back within range of his starving father's chopsticks.
"COME BACK HERE RANMA!"
Ranma, on the other hand, was discovering that flying was quite enjoyable. Parking himself up at a height and enjoying his meal was even better.
When he saw a flash of light back where he and his Pops had appeared it had made him a little curious, and so he zipped back where he could see what was happening.
