I'll tell you this right now; if I had access to a time machine, I'd go back to the moment just before I was taken to the Digital World with Matt and the others and I would have nailed my younger self to the bed to prevent my going to said other world to ensure I grew up a normal, average guy. Don't get me wrong, though. What guy wouldn't brag that he's best friends with all sorts of characters: droids, Jedi, Looney Tunes, pirates, and even STeel Angels? It's just lately, I wish none of it ever happened.
My name is Takeru Takaishi, but mostly everyone calls me TK. I'm 17 years old, the youngest of two sons from a broken home, I live with my mother, and right now I'm the world's greatest chick magnet. Normally, other guys would relish the attention, but then those guys would have never read/seen RANMA 1/2. I have, and this is much worse.
This whole mess started for oen reason. No, wait, it's two reasons, actually. Well, my story starts two days ago when I got accepted into a new school called Aoi Academy, which my mom and I had never heard of at all until I got my letter of acceptance. The next day, we paid a visit to Aoi Academy. THAT'S when we got the news about how I got into that school...
***************************************************************************************
"Magic?!"
The Principal nodded. "That is correct. Everyone here at Aoi can use magic. A magic user's worth is measured by the number of times one can use magic. The minimum here is 8,000 magic points, which boasts our selective acceptance of students."
Nancy and TK exchanged puzzled looks before she asked, though she didn't realize it then, an important question. "What happens if one uses up their points?"
"...Sadly... they die."
Immediately, TK's forehead was covered in cold sweat. "And... how many times do I have left to us magic?"
"It seems, from the day you were born, your total magic point count has been 1-."
"Then why the hell is he at this school?!" Nancy exclaimed. "You make him use up that magic point and he'll die!"
The prinicpal simply raised an eyebrow. "Whoever said you have to use magic here at Aoi? Also, though your son can only use magic once in his life, that kind of magic has limitless potential. If he wished it, he could end the world as we know it."
Fantastic, TK thought with much sarcasm, I've gone from Harry Potter to Voldemort in five seconds.
"Also, according to Dr. Akai's results from TK's earlier physical/magical examination, he has the blood of numerous famous and powerful magicians coursing through his veins. There is a chance that his children could be born with semi-limitless magic points. Of course, that is where the real danger lies."
TK gulped, loudly. "What danger?"
Before continuing, the Principal gave a heavy sigh. "I'm afraid this makes you quite the political football of the magic world, my boy. Several well-known families will want your genes for their greed or survival. It is most likely you will be approached by countless girls who will not be so easily dissuaded from having your genes."
Nancy bolted from her seat. "I've heard enough. If what you say is true, there is no way my son will stay here any longer if he's in that much danger of getting raped. No way am I ready to be a grandmother this early."
"Please calm yourself, Ms. Takaishi. I assure you, thsi is the safest place for TK in the world. Only those within this office, aside from Dr. Akai, know of TK's potential, and that is how it will stay. The staff here are all powerful magic users, and we can protect TK with our lives."
TK raised an eyebrow. "And what about Dr. Akai?"
"He's good at keeping secrets, especially those of this importance. He can erase your file and make forgeries at my request if you'd like. Now, perhaps you would like to see your dorm room?"
"I dunno, sir. After what you just told me, I'm almost afraid to get out of my seat right now."
"I would feel the same if I were in your place. We shall go when you feel you are ready."
It took all of TK's will to pry himself out of his chiar and follow his mother and the principal out of the office. Once they had all gone, however, a sinister giggle filled the room.
"Mistress Kazetsubaki was right to have me peep in on this meeting. She'll definitely want to hear of this."
*******************************************************************************
It was a peaceful walk down to the boys' dorm on the campus. If I had only known what was going to happen next, I would have taken my time enjoying the spring breeze and mild sun. We were not more than a block from the dormitory when Mom got a call on her cell...
*******************************************************************************
Nancy slowly put her cell away after ending the call; her face etched with shock. "TK<' she aid finally after a brief moment of silence. "You remember your uncle Amidamaru?"
The name made TK frown heavily. His uncle was a rich SOB who put wealth over family. They had met only a few times, but TK wished they had never met at all. "Yeah, so?"
What Nancy said next sounded like a bad joke: "He just died, and in his will he left you 50,000,000 dollars."
"Big deal." After a few more steps, however, the news sank into TK. "He did WHAT?!"
"Left you 50 million."
"Oh my," the prinicpal exlclaimed, "that's wonderful!"
But TK was less excited. "There has to be a catch."
Nancy gave a nod. "You either get the money provided that you're married-."
"Figured. Oh well."
"TK, I'm not done yet. There's another condition; if you're not married by now, you can still get the money by getting married within one full week of the reaidng of the will, which was at 6PM last night." Nancy then checked her digital watch. "You have 6 days, 7 hours, and 37 minutes left."
"And have zero interest in getting hitched just so I can get rich," TK stated as they entered the dorm, lead by the prinicpal. "Besides, how will anyone know about this? They don't print that kind of story in the paper. ...Well, maybe the tabloids would, but nobody believes those anyway."
*******************************************************************************
My mom should have socked me good for that comment. We didn;t know it at the time, but the story about my almost becoming rich was leaked out to every paper in Japan. Even the girls I knew back home had heard about it and were on their way to find me.
But I'm forgetting my place in the story. We got to the room where I would have been staying, and the principal opened the door, and we were most shocked to see...
