Ritsuko said, "Place her on the bed."
After the guards left, Ritsuko stared at the young girl's face.
"What secrets are you hiding?"
Ritsuko put Nagisa through a full examination. After taking some blood and tissue samples, she put Nagisa's into a search database.
Ritsuko did a quick pattern check on the sleeping girl and stared at the screen. "Her pattern is now orange. How can a pattern switch colors like that? What does a yellow pattern mean?"
Oblivious to the world around her, Nagisa dreamed.
Her dream self was approaching a blonde girl with red eyes and pointed ears. She struggled to stop approaching.
Iczer-1, I can't control myself any longer. Shoot me! Kill me!
The blonde girl pointed her fist at Nagisa. A woman with long red hair looked in amusement at the scene.
"How exciting. Can you really shoot her, Iczer-1?"
The blonde girl said, "I can't do it. I can't bring myself to shoot you."
Iczer-1, if you die what will happen to the Earth? Please fight, Iczer-1
The blonde woman clenched her fist and fired a beam through Nagisa.
As she fired, she screamed, "Oh, Nagisa!"
As Nagisa collapsed to the ground, she felt her body come back under her control. The blonde girl was looking over her.
Nagisa said, "Thank you, Iczer-1. I'm grateful. Please win for Earth."
Nagisa felt her spirit depart her body and approach the blond girl. She entered the blonde girl and recalled a golden light surrounding her.
Nagisa woke up.
Putting her hand to her forehead, she muttered, "That was a weird dream. Why would I beg someone to kill me?"
Ritsuko asked, "Just why would you have a dream like that?"
Nagisa's eyes widened in shock, as she curled up in the bed. "Who are you? What are you doing in my bedroom?"
Ritsuko calmly replied, "You are not in your bedroom. You are in the headquarters for NERV. I am Dr. Ritsuko Akagi. I'd like to ask you about that giant robot that you called."
Nagisa stared at Ritsuko. "You mean that wasn't a dream?"
Ritsuko's head slumped. "No. This isn't happening. All right then, what is your name?"
"Nagisa Kano. I.... Huh?"
Ritsuko wrote down the name and asked, "What's the matter?"
"My name is Nagisa Kara, not Kano. My grandmother was the brother of Nagisa Kano's dad," Nagisa replied confused. "How do I know that?"
Ritsuko was about to scratch off the name Kano but decided against it, as she thought, "There might be some connection between the two. It won't hurt to check it out."
"So you have no idea how you called upon that robot?" Ritsuko asked.
Nagisa shook her head. "I heard a woman's voice telling me to call upon Iczer Robo. That is the name of the robot and the next thing I knew, I was in the pilot's seat."
"Iczer Robo?" Ritsuko thought. "Someone built that thing and gave it to this girl. But, why? What about that voice she claimed to have heard telling her what to do? Iczer Rob, a yellow pattern, and a "
Ritsuko stood up and headed for the door. "Please wait here for a while. I need to finish your medical examination, now that you are awake."
Nagisa just nodded, as she asked, "After they're done, can I go home?"
Ritsuko replied, "I can't promise anything."
Nagisa collapsed in bed, as Ritsuko left. Tears started streaming down her face, as she softly cried.
"Why me?"
