"Eat this!!" Cadet Hawke fired her 'weapon' at her opponent but he used a temporary boost to dodge the shot. Shinn used the opportunity to counter-attack with his own 'weapon'. Luna swore to herself as her monitor indicated that she got hit. He's slowly cutting her lead and if this keeps up, he'll take the match. She started reorganizing herself when she heard a message on her radio.
"This is Control to Cadets Lunamaria Hawke and Shinn Asuka. Your space mock battle has been cut short. Please return to the spaceport at once. I repeat, your mock battle is finished."
"What gives?!? Can you at least give us an explanation?!?" shouted Shinn.
"There's some trouble with the Natural escort heading to Aprilius City to initiate peace talks not too far from here. Don't worry too much about it. We'll reschedule your match for another time. Please return to the spaceport immediately."
Luna sighed before responding. "Acknowledged, Control." Shinn simply hovered in space with his GINN Trainer Suit before directing his suit to go back to the spaceport. The two supervisors, believing that their cadets would return to the spaceport without incident, fired up their GINNs and headed towards the battle, with orders to escort the Secretary General to safety and if possible, stop the renegade suits and battleships.
'What type of trouble did he mean? I wish I could go check it out but Control would radio our mock fight supervisors to drag me back to spaceport,' thought Shinn. He decided not to dwell upon it too much.

"We've got mobile suits launching from the unknown battleships!! Looks like a bunch of...CGUEs?!?" Dearka checked his monitor to get visual confirmation. Six black CGUEs had just launched the Nazca-class mystery battleship, armed with machine guns and the typical GINN armaments.
Yzak's eyes narrowed as he heard Dearka's comments over his radio. "How is this possible?!? The CGUEs never made it to mass production and the factories that built those things would only build them if the ZAFT Supreme Council requested it for ace pilots and commanders!!"
"Let's worry about that later and take them down!!" Dearka dodged some machine gun fire and countered by firing some shots from his high-energy rifle and his gun launcher. Yzak launched some missiles from the left shoulder of his Duel Gundam. The CGUEs that they fought against moved out of the way and continued their assault.
Yzak growled under his breath. "Any bright ideas on how to limit the maneuverability of these guys?!?"
A drop of sweat rolled down Dearka's cheek as he combined his weapons to form his larger weapon. "Spray and pray?"
"We're so doomed..." 'That damn Archangel better get within weapons reach in time!!' thought Yzak before he fired his "Shiva" railgun on his right shoulder.

The other two battleships sent out six black GINN mobile suits each for a total of twelve enemies. Kira aimed his MA-M20 "Lupus" beam rifle and fired, taking one of the units down. "Kira! You go ahead and protect the Secretary-General! My team will take care of these GINNs!!"
"Acknowledged!!" Leaving the Astray team to their task, Kira soared off to where two of the mystery suits were finishing off the Strike Daggers. He had to get there soon or else those suits would pursue the Secretary-General's shuttle and destroy it. Before he could take off, his pilot instincts kicked in as he rotated twenty degrees to the left, barely avoiding a red shaped object with a thick black extension cord attached. He turned to where the attack came from and stared in disbelief. 'What in the world?!?'
In front of him stood the third mystery mobile suit. The dominant colour of the suit was black with splashes of red and silver over its body. On each arm was a gigantic red fang with black extension cord. A pair of red demonic wings and a black tail were on the machine's back. The legs were somewhat standard except the feet looked like clawed feet instead of the standard mobile suit foot. The head had the standard expressionless look of a Gundam with red eyes and two MMI-GAU2 "Picus" 76mm CIWS weapons mounted in there. A beam sabre currently rested on the left hip of the machine with a small beam rifle on the right hip.
'The suit's registry...ZGMF - X15A Gargoyle?!? A ZAFT suit?!?' Kira tried sending a transmission. "Who are you and why did you attack the escort?!?" The Gargoyle didn't respond as it drew its beam sabre and charged.
Kira attempted to fire with his rifle but got it knocked away by the other machine. He quickly grabbed his own beam sabre to parry an attack. Inside the cockpit of the Gargoyle, Akira smiled. 'Not bad, Freedom...'
The Gargoyle backed off and detached both wings off its back before combining the pieces to make a makeshift boomerang and throwing it. As soon as it left the Gargoyle's hands, the boomerang became surrounded with a red light, similar to a light coming from a beam sabre. Kira gasped before forcing his mobile suit down to dodge the boomerang. It continued on its trajectory, destroying a ZAFT GINN which had arrived at the scene.
"Harry!!" Drake's eyes narrowed in fury as he spotted the Freedom and the Gargoyle. "You bastard!!" Before he could fire his heavy assault machine gun, the boomerang returned, slicing through his own mobile suit. When the boomerang returned to the Gargoyle, the field of light was dropped and the wings separated itself into two pieces before reattaching themselves to the Gargoyle's back.
"How...?" What those wings did...the type of guidance technology required to pull that off would have to be remarkable. Kira had not seen anything like it.
His radio came to life as the pilot of the Gargoyle chuckled. "You'll be surprised at the special things those wacky ZAFT engineers can come up with these days."
This shocked the pilot of the Freedom. "You're not part of ZAFT?!?"
"Let's just say I would have been proud to serve under the old ZAFT with Patrick Zala rather than the joke that it has become!!" The Gargoyle drew its rifle and fired at the Freedom.
'Dammit!! Athrun, hurry up!! If this keeps up, the Secretary-General's a goner!!'

"Harry!! Drake!! This is Control! Please respond!!" Shinn paused when he heard this over his radio. Apparently, Control forgot to shut off his connection. His two supervisors...could they have been heading to the battle and got killed in the process?
He slowly thought about what would happen if peace were delayed. Then more people would suffer and die like his parents and Mayu. No...he couldn't let it happen. He has to do something. Hopefully, this old bucket of bolts of a mobile suit would hold up. With his mind made up, Shinn made an about turn and blasted off toward the battlefield. "Cadet Asuka!! What do you think you're doing?!?" Shinn quickly shut off his radio.
"That idiot!! I'm going after him!!" Luna shut off her radio after the last transmission and turned around to follow Shinn.
