Tribals - Pioneer: Meeting The Wildlife... [Episode 138828]

by Kender

Even though Genma knew that being on a new planet was going to make things rather difficult for him, he was still severely annoyed with the place. It was harder to walk there, and he had to deal with this odd desert, which looked to be different than the ones he'd encountered before. That made for a lot of discomfort, and he didn't even have the hope of finding even a village, unless there were really aliens out there. All he did know was that he was stuck there, and he had to actually work to make certain that he was at least able to get comfortable.

All that didn't matter though, or so he told himself. He was a martial artist, capable of a great many things that no mere normal person would ever be able to even try. Over his lifetime, he'd climbed mountains, travelled over countless deserts, and swam in the most treacherous seas. No measly planet could beat him, and he'd just have to wait it out until someone came along in search of him.

Until then, he'd simply have to make due with what he had. At least with plant life, there had to be water. Bushes wouldn't exactly be a good meal, but the small little puff balls he was passing seemed to be a possible source of meat. They were rather odd though, as what he took to be fur was some sort of scaley protrusions on the round little critters. And they might have been cute, if not for stiffness of their skins.

Of course, the way that they pulled their thin lips back and showed rows of razor sharp teeth before charging in a group at him spoke less of cute little mascots, and more of a pack of carnivores.

Not that Genma was about to stop and discuss matters. He had better things to do than to be eaten by a mob of hungry critters with nasty attitudes. So he ran like the wind, with his panic overriding any sort of problem that he had with the gravity.

The fact that something with the shape of a guinea pig on stilts, the jaws of a T-Rex, and the size of an elephant decided that they'd be a good snack did help his cause. Unfortunately, he was apparently included in the category of 'small snacks to be gobbled up' by his 'rescuer'. Those martial arts skills that he was so proud of helped him in that, and he charged off, hoping they'd be gone before he had to come back.

Had he waited in the pod though, he would have seen a message that would have explained it all.

*DANGER*

*DO NOT EXIT ESCAPE POD UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECCESSARY!*

*CRAFT HAS LANDED ON INTERDICTED PLANET.*

Information:

Planet Carybdis was first explored by the Farseer V remote probe, and was immediately declared to be never colonized due to high gravity, atmospheric troubles, and the expansive amount of predators involved. The latter is of great concern as each of these carnivores is excessively violent, and seemingly incapable of mercy. Those wishing to land there are advised to do so only under great duress, and even then, only if there are absolutely no other choices. Otherwise, anyone travelling the surface risks constant threats of death by predator. The best advice would be to stay with one's craft with the emergency beacon active until help arrives.

Genma had left before the information had booted up, and so was left not knowing that he'd run into a place with a lot of mean meat eaters while:
