"Okinawa!" exclaimed Genma. "Of course!"
"'Okin...' Argh..."
"What? I've seen those films and videos and shows, and the place they say 'Aloha' has all these tropical beaches and such. So, it has to be Okinawa."
"You've never left this area of Asia, have you?"
"Of course not. All the martial arts are here, or eventually come to places like here, China or Korea. So what's the problem?"
Sighing heavily, the middle Tendo daughter gently squeezed the bridge of her nose. "And Daddy wants one of us to have that as a father-in-law."
"What does that mean?"
"It means that you don't know what we need to know at this moment. But does anyone else want to take a crack at it?"
"Hawaii," Kasumi said simply.
"Sis? You knew?"
"Why, yes. Why wouldn't I?"
"No, it's a good thing at the moment. But that's probably where you have to go, Ranma."
"Ya want me ta go?" the named boy asked.
"Basically... yes. There's not a lot of choice in the matter."
"Besides, he gets to help some girl in the process," Akane muttered.
"That is not so much of a problem as what else could happen."
"Like what?"
"Oh, I don't know about you, but I'd kind of want to prevent demons coming to rip me to pieces."
"Good point."
"I thought so too."
The pigtailed boy scowled as he regarded the normally mercenary girl. "Ya just wanna have me away so that each of ya will be safe, right?"
"If that was it, I'd be stupid."
"Huh?"
"Think of it. What if she's telling the truth? Then even if we avoid the whole 'monsters out for pigtailed boys' angle, then we'll just have to wait until you go kaput, and leave us to handle the corrupted Senshi and all the nastiness they'll drop on our doorstep. That does not sound like fun," Nabiki drawled.
"So..."
"We have to do something, and do it soon. And there can be no room for failure. We screw this up, and we might not enjoy what comes next."
"Which means we take the fight ta them."
"Pretty much."
"You can't drag my babies into danger!" bellowed Soun.
"Can it, Daddy."
"Nabiki?!"
"He'll need help if these guys are as nasty as we're being told, and since a woman just did a teleconference by some miniature projection on the table, I'll tend to believe it. Especially since she knew about his dreams. I do have to admit that some of my skills would come in handy for setting up arrangements. And Akane does have that brute strength of hers."
"HEY!" her younger sister barked.
"Sorry, but if anyone could hit real hard, it'd be you."
"Well, that's true..."
"And we'll need to get some other help, since I don't think that they'd just let you guys walk in and save these 'Senshi' whomever they are."
"It's nice of you to help," the eldest of the sisters commented.
"Yeah," Ranma agreed. "Thanks."
"Don't thank me yet. I could be sending you off on some wild goose chase. And there's something important that I kind of want to keep in this sort of situation," Nabiki replied.
"What's that?"
"The ability to continue breathing, and the skin on my back to stay there, thank you very much."
Everyone around her sighed at her words, but clearly did not find them unexpected, while:
