"Hawaii," corrected Nabiki.
"Pop said Okinawa," insisted Ranma.
"Indeed, we should get this over right away. Then an Okinawan wedding and honeymoon," began Genma.
"Akane?" asked Nabiki.
THWAM!
Ranma looked at where his father was currently imitating a unconscious Genma. A very good likeness too. "uhm. Hawaii?"
"Yes, Hawaii," said Nabiki. "I can stay here and coordinate. Which also has the benefit of saving us some money."
"Oh dear," said Kasumi. "You won't be coming, Nabiki?"
"Not that far, but I'm not waiting here anyway. I've got a place I can stay where I can use the phone. I'll give Akane the number. You and I, sis, are not the go-off-on-an-adventure types."
"I thought you'd jump at the chance to go to Hawaii," said Soun, now wearing a Hawaiian shirt which crossed the line from tacky to outright garish.
"Go to Hawaii on vacation, sure," admitted Nabiki. "Going to Hawaii in order to fight some kind of supernatural menace that's fond of kidnapping and torturing young women? I don't think so, skippy."
"Why me?" asked Ranma grumpily.
"Aren't you always saying that you're the best?" Nabiki asked sweetly. "Well, here's the down side. If you're the best then you're going to be hit with weird stuff like saving the world. Now I've got to get plane tickets. I think Air Singapore has one of the cheapest rates of the general aviation groups, if we go with coach..."
"Huh," said Ranma, hoping this meant he didn't have to swim there. Without looking at a map, he couldn't be sure, but he thought Hawaii was even further away than Okinawa.
"I don't suppose your passports are in order?" asked Nabiki as a thought occurred to her.
Ranma's blank look was enough answer.
"Okay, that lets out the commercial flights," said Nabiki with a sigh. "This will take awhile."
