His radio came to life as the voice of Kira Yamato was heard from the speakers. “Athrun how’s the reconfiguration of the Justice’s OS and main systems going?”
“I’m just about finished with my personal touches to the OS, and once the techs are finished green-lighting all the external movement systems I’m going to begin to the drill exercises to test the systems in a combat situation.”
“Won’t that be difficult without the Fatum 00 unit?”
Athrun nodded as his fingers flew over the keyboards. “A little bit. The Justice’s maneuverability will be limited and I won’t have the Fatum’s cannons, but it’ll be good experience to test the Justice’s ability to fight with the unit missing or destroyed.”
“That’s good. Anyway the other reason I called is that Ms. Canaver had the Armory 01 MS R&D send us something they salvaged from the last battle.” Kira informed his friend and fellow pilot.
Athrun raised an eyebrow. “What surprise is that?”
”Would you believe the METEOR unit the Justice was using?”
“That thing survived?!” Athrun exclaimed in genuine shock. “I’d expected that thing to get shot to hell and become space debris.”
“It did get shot up but it wasn’t destroyed, so they salvaged it and rebuilt it. They’re bringing it over right now.”
Athrun nodded slowly. “That might actually come in handy, even without the Fatum pack I can dock with the METEOR unit and so can you. After all those three machines Obsidian Abyss stole are monsters and we don’t know what else they’ve managed to get their hands on.”
“My thoughts exactly, although I think because of the Justice’s lack of firepower without the use of the Fatum pack you should use the METEOR if we need to go into battle.” Kira said after considering the best choice of usage for the mobile weapons unit.
“Alright, when it gets here I’ll also dock with it and run a systems test and adjust the OS for compatibility if need be.”

“I see there’s a lot of Junk Guild construction mobile suits and vehicles among the Orb construction crews.”
“The reconstruction effort is too massive for the people of Orb alone, and since we have good connections with the Junk Guild, asking for their assistance is a small matter Kou.” Kisaka explained.
“Hey Kisaka how come we have to stay out in this hallway while Cagalli’s in the meeting?” Kou asked as both he and Kiska were standing in the hallway outside the meeting room.
“This first meeting is strictly between the ruling bodies, no one else is allowed in until the second part of the meeting.” Kisaka answered. “Sometimes sensitive political material is exchanged in these meetings and not all military or advisory personal are privy to that knowledge.”
Kou nods before looking back out the window, construction work as far as the eye could see. “I hope Orb can get back on its feet.”
”Getting back on our feet isn’t so much the daunting task as it is keeping ourselves from internal problems and the risk of the Earth Alliance still seeking to covet Orb into their forces.” Kisaka said gravely.
“I guess the Earth Forces would be selfish and stupid enough to try and force Orb to join them by force again.”
“Yes, but right now I don’t think they will attempt it. As it stands all eyes are on the Earth Alliance government after their less-than subtle use of nuclear weapons to wipe out the PLANTS. From what I’ve heard is that both the Earth Alliance government and Blue Cosmos are getting a large amount of bad press and flack from their actions.”
“The way they attacked Orb, and tried to nuke the PLANTS without warning sure as hell won’t help their image any.” Kou agreed.
“No, in fact those actions now have many nations calling for investigations into the Earth Alliance top brass. Also information has leaked of Blue Cosmos’s ties and heavy influence within the Earth Alliance and thus those nations are also calling for the disbanding of Blue Cosmos and that its members are tried for conspiracy of genocide along with the Earth Forces brass.” Kisaka walked to the window, standing beside Kou as he looked outside. “Also some well-informed individuals have begun to leak the truth about Alaska.”
“You mean the Cyclops system and how they left several of their forces there to die sot hey could keep the illusion it wasn’t a trap?”
“I see you’ve read the information for yourself.” Somehow Kisaka wasn’t surprised.
”I keep tabs on all news forums on the net,” Kou explained. “Man the amount of anti-EA sentiments just flooded the net when that data popped up. Oh well its nothing they didn’t bring upon themselves.”
