Gundam Seed - After War: Meeting Banter. [Episode 139536]

by Ninja Kasuga of the Demonite Race

After their hour long recess, the representatives of Orb piled back into the meeting room. This time around they were joined by Kisaka and Kou, however almost as soon as the young Coordinator step foot into the room there was an outburst.

”Who let this kid in here? Also why is he wearing an Orb uniform?” One of the representatives demanded.

“Young man this is a very serious meeting I suggest you stay outside.” This was said by Unato Seiran.

Kou’s left eye twitched very badly. “I’m one of the Kusanagi’s crew pal, and I’m here to brief you all on an important matter regarding a threat to everyone who wants peace.”

Cagalli slammed her hand on the table before anymore objections came up. “I ask that the representatives here show Kou the proper respect those here would want others to show to them. Despite his age he’s become an invaluable member of the Kusanagi’s crew and he has vital information on the threat he mentioned.” She sighed, gathering her wits to calm herself down. “But first Colonel Kisaka will give the Kusanagi’s report of events after we took off from Kaguya to when we returned. Kisaka the floor is yours.”

Kisaka saluted and moved to a projection screen and podium. On the podium was a data-reader to which he inserted the Kusanagi’s data-log entries. “I ask that each Representative present check your PDA’s as I go along with the briefing so we can make this quick and too the point.”

“Whew! Well Eight we put that harbor back together in record time!” Lowe Gear said to the suitcase shaped computer jacked into his personal mobile suit the P02 Astray Red Frame.

”We certainly did Lowe. We finished two hours ahead of schedule without cutting corners, and Red Frame’s sensors tell me the dock is quite structurally sound.” Read the monitor of the computer.

The Junk Tech grinned and shifted Red Frame so he could look at the fruit of his labor at a better angle. Yep he had a damn good reason to be pleased with himself.

“Lowe, how’s the harbor restoration on your end going?” The Professor’s voice is heard over the radio.

”Just finished up my section of the dock, what’s next?”

”Head over to Morgenroete and give a hand with putting their MS factory together.”

”Roger!”

“-and that concludes my report on the Kusangi’s activities up until we arrived on Earth.” Kisaka said as he wrapped up his briefing. Taking his log-data from the reader on the podium he salutes the representatives and takes his seat.

A series of murmurs from the representatives buzzed across the table. To Cagalli, Kou and Kisaka it was obvious some of the representatives present were trying to grasp some of what they were told. Not that either of the three could blame them.

“So what you’re saying is that some Anti-Natural group is trying to restart hostilities?” Seiran asked.

“I believe Kou can answer any questions about Obsidian Abyss and their goals better than Kisaka or I can.” Cagalli answered, gesturing for Kou to speak.

Taking his cue, the Coordinator stood up. “My name is Kou Uramecha, and I’ll do what I can to best explain to everyone here what I know of Obsidian Abyss and their long-term goals which they have started to execute recently.”

Kou spent the next twenty minutes explaining in detail the history of Obsidian Abyss, how and why they’ve kept themselves secret up until now, their recruitment process, and how they have infiltrated many organizations even Blue Cosmos and the Earth Alliance to get a hold of vital data or steal military secrets and weapons. He then spends the next ten minutes telling the gathered representatives of Orb why his knowledge of the organization and mobile suit skills was how he ended up joining the Kusanagi.

Once he finished Kou sat down, eyeing the representatives who were still digesting the information he’d given them. However he did not expect the outburst that followed.

“Those damn Coordinators are insane! No wonder the Earth Alliance’s policies are mostly Anti-Coordinator slated. If they’re trying to wipe out every Natural that lives I can see why they tried to nuke the PLANTS.”

Kou’s fist tightened his teeth visible gritting. “Pardon me sir, but if I recall Blue Cosmos has existed longer than Obsidian Abyss, and it was because of them and the Earth Alliance’s prejudice toward Coordinator’s that they formed in the first place.” He downright shot the representative a death glare. “Furthermore not every Coordinator thinks like they do, it’s the same with Naturals not everyone of them wants to kill off Coordinators like Blue Cosmos.”

”Why are you taking such offense to what representative Borjuro said?” Unato asked curiously.

“Because I’m a Coordinator and I’ve never had a natural urge to kill a non-Coordinator in my life…actually that’s untrue as I wouldn’t mind blowing up a building full of Blue Cosmos members.” Kou admitted. “In any case it’s not a clear-cut “all Coordinators want to exterminate all Naturals” situation. We’re dealing with a well organized fanatical group who could not only restart the war but bring about Armageddon if they wanted too.”

“Another reason I took offense to what was said by Mr. Borjuro is that the reason entire war started was because of the actions of Blue Cosmos and the Earth Forces.”

“Tell me young man,” Seiran spoke up. “If our country can better protect itself even if it means siding with a force that ruined you before…for the good of its people wouldn’t it be worth the compromises and tensions if it meant security for the people?”

“If you mean joining the back-stabbing government that started a war that is run by people who are also members of a genocidal terrorist outfit like Blue Cosmos and you wish to throw out the ideals of your nation and put its Coordinator populace up for slaughter…gee who does that protect? The populace or just you and those in positions like yourself who value your own ass over your own people’s safety?” Kou asked dangerously. “Because that’s what would happen if you side with the Earth Forces…you essentially join part of the problem the humanity currently faces.”

Seiran kept a calm poker face, but everyone present could see Kou’s words pissed him off big time as he clearly made several pot-shots at Seiran himself. “Perhaps Blue Cosmos and the Earth Forces did help raise hostilities that sparked the war; however wouldn’t the true blame go to the man who opened Pandora’s Box? George Glenn after all feed the data to create Coordinator’s into the internet and thus allowed everyone who could use the data to become just like him.”

“Tell me Mr. Seiran did you ask to be born as you were?” Kou asked him bluntly.

”I beg your pardon?”

”Nobody asks to be born sir, I didn’t and I’m certain you did have a choice of how you were born either. George Glenn did not ask to be genetically enhanced, and he found his enhancements as a gift that helped better his life. He thought by giving people the choice and ability to be like him would benefit mankind. So I think turning the blame around to a man who could never foresee how humanity would react to what made him unique isn’t a smooth move on your end representative Seiran. As it is I didn’t come to debate on the right for my kind to exist or not I came to inform you people about one of the true enemies that are the reasons why the world is in such turmoil.”

With his piece said, Kou sits back down. Out of the corner of his eye he can see Seiran steaming at the talking-down he was just handed. He had to give himself a mental pat on the back for getting the old fart’s goat.
