"Because otherwise we'd have to go to your house," Ukyo commented dryly, "And you didn't want a meeting to go on there."
"Yeah, because this whole mess is really stupid. Whatever is starting this is making things really not fun at all."
"That's true. But then, what else could you expect when every guy around's getting super powers?"
"Boys always be boys," Shampoo put in.
Kodachi gave off a small snort, looking as if she found being in an okonomiyaki restaurant distasteful. "Much as I do not enjoy admitting it, the Chinese wench is correct. Many males do have problems with dealing with any increase in anything involving themselves."
"Nice to see crazy flower girl admit that."
"Strumpet."
"Sneaky big mouth."
"Guys?" the chef put in, seeming uncomfortable in a position of mediator. "We have other things to worry about. I mean, look at what happened with Nabiki."
"She did do stupid thing..."
"Yes, but now she is paying for it. How is she, anyway?"
The youngest Tendo sighed. "Still staring vacantly and drooling on herself when I left her, but she seemed to be coming out of it. For which I'm glad. I was afraid one of those jerks might have decided to manipulate her mind to make her do what they want."
"What? Like turn her into some toy, or force her to be always on the up and up."
"The second, I might not mind, though it'd be kind of strange. But I was worried about the first when I found her."
"At least they seem to be handling their powers with some restraint. I mean, I've been getting guys coming up to try hitting on me, but none of them has really forced things..."
"Lucky you. I keep on getting the idea that some of them are always watching me. The ones with the mental powers seem to realize that I'm not just going to roll over. But I've seen my friends get a lot of attention. I mean, Yuka and Sayuri have had guys trying to talk to them left and right. And I've never seen Kasumi be so popular..," Akane said with a shrug.
"Odd. I have not had the same contacts myself..." Kodachi murmured.
The other girls just stared at her for a moment, and then began to sigh.
"What?"
"Nothing. But Shampoo no care about how much boys want hit on her," the Amazon stated, "There only one boy for Shampoo, and he run off."
"Ranma-darling is no coward!"
"No say he was, but Shampoo stuck here with you, when could be out looking for him."
Ukyo leaned forward and braced her forearms against the tabletop. "We agreed to talk about the situation. We're getting a lot of talk in school, and the guy we all want is off someplace. I just wanted to make sure that we knew what the situation was."
"And you no have problem with attention boys give?"
"They may be stronger, faster, more agile, or better looking, but most of them are still not the best in regards to romantic ability. Besides, Ranchan's my fiance."
"That's what Dad and Mister Saotome say about me," the shorthaired girl grunted, "They want me to run off after him."
"It's your choice. You can stay here where you will have to deal with boys who may be able to out power you, and are looking for girls of their own, or you can try and find Ranchan before me."
"I be the one to find him," Shampoo commented.
"No, I will," Kodachi said with great dignity.
The four girls looked at each other for a long moment, and realized that even if the 'boy situation' had changed, their rivalry was still there, while:
