As it was he was busy at work on the next stage of his Master Plan. The first girl would be out recruiting others, and those others would recruit still others. He heard the phone ring and the answering machine pick up, and smiled.
The number gave instructions to gather at a safe location and would have been one his prime recruiter gave to one of her first convertees. She would come, he would pick her up, and then he would begin Stage Two.
The conversion tube was nearly ready. When it was done he could embue one of his agents with a massive infusion of magical energy, forming a connection that would further empower the recruit.
He might have been a powerhungry mad scientist, but he was also an otaku.
He heard the names on the tape, spoken in an eager voice by that new recruit. Two of them. Sisters of the one he'd first infected. Perfect.
They weren't that far off either. He could get them and be back in time for lunch.
Akane didn't like pretending things were normal. She knew her purpose in life now, and having to just suck it up from these morons and jerks around her in order to keep up the farce was wearying.
Yuka and Sayuri wouldn't be missed for awhile. She didn't have much hope of overpowering Shampoo - yet. She'd need help with Ukyo.
"What is it you want, harridan?"
Akane smiled. "I realize you have the superior claim, Kuno-san. I wanted to surrender in the face of the inevitable."
Kodachi was crazy, not dumb. She fingered her ribbon and eyed her rival. "Exactly what is it you refer to?"
"Your attempts to claim Ranma," said Akane, putting her acting skills to full use. "I- I understand that you're the better choice for him, and that he would be happier with you."
"I see," said Kodachi, still very suspicious. While it made perfect sense to HER, she wasn't exactly a novice when it came to subterfuge.
"Can we talk this over, in private?" asked Akane, hesitatingly. "I think I see a solution to the honor arrangement that would benefit both of us as well as Ranma."
Kodachi was still suspicious, but this was too good an opportunity to pass up.
As Akane had well known.
