And now she had lost the other half of her mentoring team. Sure, that male could definitely be lazy, and was a bit too... rough and base at times, but she needed him. Not in any personal way, though she did care about his health. They were just companions on a quest to save the world, and that sort of thing bred a connection between two folks involved. So, it was only natural that she worried that he'd gotten himself into something he couldn't handle, winding up being thrown in some sort of cell, getting thrashed by their 'hosts', or worse. If they'd stayed together, she could have helped him keep safe, using teamwork in its best form.
Now it simply looked like he was going to be needing rescuing, and she hurried in the hopes that such would not be the case. Heading back to where they'd parted, she tried to follow what she thought would have been his most likely path, and was reasonably sure that she was right. If all went well, she'd find him in good health, and merely running late, but if things took a turn for the worse, she would have been rather cross with... someone.
So she looked high and low for him, certain that he'd be sneaking around, trying to blend in with his surroundings to prevent himself from getting caught.
What she found when she followed what sounded like his voice was him coming out of one of the houses, actually whistling a happy tune, and wearing a strange expression on his face.
"Artemis!" she called out quickly, and then took a moment to compose herself. "What happened to you?"
"A lot..." the white mooncat replied dreamily.
"Is that so?"
"Uh-huh... I found out some nice stuff..."
"Like what?"
"Like... Luna?!"
"Yes?"
"A-heh..." Artemis murmured, and rubbed a paw on the back of his head.
"What's with you?"
"Nothing..."
"Something happened, didn't it?"
"You might say that."
The black feline scowled. "I do. And look at me when I'm talking to you!"
"Okay..."
"Now, tell me what happened."
"Nothing really that I can say."
"What does that mean? You said that you saw something interesting!"
"Yeah..."
"So? Tell me!"
"Ummm... well..." the white mooncat began, "All I saw was that the houses are really nice inside. I didn't find anything that would tell us about plans though..."
"Then what did you see?"
"Heaven."
"Excuse me?"
"I sort of was... doing some... thing..."
Growling under her breath, Luna glared at her partner. "Well then, I hope you enjoyed yourself."
"I did."
"Good for you... Now can we get going on..."
"Anything you say..."
"Good... Artemis! Get back here! Don't wander away when I'm talking to you!"
Her feline compatriot merely acted as if he didn't hear her, while:
