Moon and Makendo: Explanation [Episode 142278]

by Disruptor

Usagi stared at Doro, as she stammered, "H-how did you...?"

Doro shrugged. "I am a police detective. It's also giving off a lot of power."

Usagi thought back to the fight with Uranus and Neptune and decided something. She took several deep breaths and looked into the faces of the three people around her. Mai had sympathy in her eyes. Doro and Hikari were looking at Usagi in interest.

Usagi asked, "Is there someplace we can go without be interrupted?"

"Spirit Police Station or the Tsurugino home," Doro replied.

Usagi thought for a few minutes before answering. "The police station sounds fine."

Doro nodded and led the three girls back into an alley. A portal opened up and soon the four were in the Spirit World. A huge, multi-storied building was in front of the group. Usagi noticed that everything was bathed in lavender light.

Doro headed for the building. "Come on. Here's a conference room we can use."

The three girls followed the green haired police detective into the Spirit Police Station. Usagi saw several more of the strange garbed people inside the building. One of them was leading an umbrella demon, which he had handcuffed. A group of three women were carrying a small cage filled with paper lantern monsters. Mai and Hikari smiled at Usagi's shock.

Mai said, "Most of the weaker things like lantern monsters and umbrella monsters can be handled by the regular Spirit Police. They are brought here for final disposition. Stronger things require one of us to step in and deal with it. If they're just causing mischief, I try to leave them alone. Those Oni were destructive."

Usagi numbly nodded, as Doro led them to a conference room. He flipped a couple switches on the wall and a white light replaced the lavender light.

Doro said, "I figured having the light being like the human world would set you more at ease. Have a seat, and please tell us what you wanted to."

The group sat around a circular table. Usagi took some deep breaths and told them she was Sailor Moon. The other three gasped in surprise. Usagi went to tell them how she had become Sailor Moon. She told them of the war against Beryl and later, how she regained her memory. She closed her eyes for a second, letting a tear fall for the renewed feelings of loss. Usagi sighed and continued, explaining about the Doom Tree and then the appearance of Wiseman and Chibi-Usa. Doro asked a few questions about the Silver Millennium and the reincarnation process. Satisfied, he let Usagi continue her tale. Mai and Hikari remained quiet throughout. Usagi then went into the battle against Pharaoh 90 and his followers. The other three winced, when they heard what happed with Hotaru Tomoe. Usagi finished up with the fight against Uranus and Neptune, along with how she wound up near Mai. The Makendo girls were stunned with what had happened. Doro sat back in his chair and crossed his arms.

Doro said, "The Silver Millennium is dead. The reincarnations of the Sailor Senshi are ghosts haunting the present day. Look forward, not back."

Confused, Usagi said, "I don't understand."

Doro explained, "That Crystal Tokyo you have described is a recreation of the ideals of a destroyed kingdom."

Doro waved one of his hands in an encompassing gesture. "This place, the Makendo, and others will fight to the death to prevent Crystal Tokyo from happening. Crystal Tokyo seems to have killed the Spirit World in that timeline."

Usagi protested. "But, I've been there and back. Then there's Chibi-Usa. Isn't the future locked."

Doro snorted in amusement. "Hardly. The future is not set. The Time Gates are not that powerful to affect all of time. Pharaoh 90 was from another galaxy. The Time Gates are nothing more than just a very oddly designed time travelling device. You could use them to see potential futures, but chance still has a way of fouling stuff like that up."

Usagi just sat there quietly.

Doro gave a sad sigh. "As to your future daughter, I am very sad to say that she will not come to be. If you do have a daughter, she might be similar, but won't be the same one who tried to lead you into that trap called Crystal Tokyo."

Usagi whispered, "Trap?"

Doro nodded. "Trap. Crystal Tokyo was unchanging. Living creatures need to grow or they will stagnate and die."

Mai said, "Doro is right, Usagi. Hikari and I would fight with all our might to prevent Crystal Tokyo. We'd also drag Makenkah into that battle. My best guess is that the fight between the Spirit Police and the Sailor Senshi caused that Great Freeze; and before we went down, we took Sailors Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune with us and probably injured several of the others."

Hikari added, "I don't want to fight people who have saved the world. Can you please stop trying to bring Crystal Tokyo about?"

Usagi sighed, as she looked around. She nodded and for some reason, she felt a bit lighter. Mai handed Usagi back the handkerchief and let the reincarnation of Princess Serenity dry her eyes.

Doro smiled. "Now that that's settled, what are you going to do about the Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune?"

Usagi blinked. "What do you mean?"

Doro said, "Those two are very dangerous loose canons. They need to be restrained."

Usagi countered, "They are trying to take the Silver Crystal from me, remember. I'm running from them. I might be more powerful than they are, but they are better fighters."

Doro said, "I see. Pardon me for a minute. By the way Usagi, you took an extraordinary risk with the Hotaru/Mistress 9 incident. There was no real correct way to handle that situation. Kill Mistress 9, but leave Pharaoh 90 alive to try again or take the risk you did and free Hotaru from possession and kill Pharaoh 90. There was a chance that the world could have been destroyed, but removing Pharaoh 90 for all time was worth it."

With that Doro left, leaving the three girls alone. They soon began chatting about their various experiences as magical girls. The Makendo were shocked that Sailor Venus and Sailor V were one and the same. Hikari was a little sad that Hotaru was a baby. Apparently the two of them would have been the same age. After a little bit, Doro returned and nodded at the three girls.

"Usagi," Doro said, "There are two ways that this can be handled. You could transfer to Mai's school, but you'd have to improve your grades. The other option is that Mai and Hikari go to the schools near you. In the first case, you'd have to move."

Usagi said, "I can't force anyone to move. Why are you telling me this?"

Mai and Hikari smiled at each other, and then at Usagi. The two of them began to giggle.

Doro explained, "Until this situation is resolved, you need bodyguards. As to Mai and Hikari moving, the schools where you live are a bit closer than their own."

"Then why aren't they attending my school?"

Mai replied, "We found the furthest school we could from our house and when we wake up in the morning around four, we have breakfast and run to school. It's great exercise for our martial arts training. Doro, I think I'll be enough. Hikari does have that school tournament she was looking forward to. I'll just say that I'm checking out Usagi's school to see if it might be better for Hikari to go to."

Doro nodded. "Right then. I'll let your school know what's going on. I've already sent some people to the Tomoe home."

Confused, Usagi asked, "Why? Hotaru's a baby and Professor Tomoe is suffering from amnesia."

Doro said, "The magic that returned Hotaru to a baby will wear off sometime. The Spirit Police can remove that now, and restore Sailor Saturn to her proper age. We'll also work with Professor Tomoe, so he won't backslide into a mad doctor. Qualified medical personnel are so hard to find these days, so we have to make do."

Usagi was even more confused. "Why do you want to restore Sailor Saturn?"

Doro chuckled. "What? You really think I'm going to pass on the chance at adding some more Spirit Hunters to our roster. That brings us to the question I'm about to ask you. How would you like to work with the Spirit Police to exterminate troublesome monsters?"

Usagi was stunned by the question.

Doro held up a hand. "You don't have to answer right now. Just think about it. At any rate, it's time for you three to head for bed."

Hikari asked, "What about Usagi? What if those two bullies attack her while she's home, or on the way to school?"

Doro replied, "Tomorrow is not a school day, but you do have a point. Mai?"

Mai nodded. "We'll call her house and say that she's sleeping over at ours."

Usagi asked, "Won't your parents object?"

A pained look came across the two girls' faces. Hikari looked away.

Mai quietly said, "You couldn't know. So don't blame yourself. Our parents are dead. All Hikari and I have of family is each other."

Usagi blushed, as she tried to stammer out an apology.

Mai held up a hand and shook her head. "It was not your fault, and you couldn't know. Don't worry about it."

Usagi numbly nodded.

Mai smiled. "At any rate. Wait until you see our home."
