Mai asked, "What do you want, Doro?"
Usagi muttered, "Daimon."
Doro gave an amused glance at Usagi. "Spirit, actually."
Usagi whispered, "Spirit?"
Mai and Hikari looked at each other and then Usagi.
Mai asked, "You can see, Doro?"
Usagi nodded.
Mai said, "Odd. Doro, you didn't answer the question. What are you doing here?"
Doro said, "There are some Oni that are getting out of control."
Mai spun around and faced Doro. "I told you before, I'm no heroine of justice."
Doro said, "These Oni are from a clan that eats babies."
Hikari looked sick and Mai wrinkled her nose in disgust.
Mai said, "If this is a trick...."
Doro replied, "I have never lied to you Mai. I might not tell you everything, but I won't lie."
From her bag, Mai pulled out a very weird looking wand. The top of it was a gold elephant that had a glove on its trunk with the fingers outspread in the victory sign. Hikari pulled a short sword that was painted like a candy cane.
The sisters held up their respective items and shouted, "Mariyagaran Makendo!"
The two items glowed with power and vanished as the sisters went through a transformation process similar to the Sailor Senshi.
Hikari's outfit was a white mini-dress with a stylized red M on the front. She wore full arm-length red gloves that had white braces covering from her wrists to her elbow. The back of each was white and had a V shaped opening, showing the red underneath. Two white scarves flowed from her shoulder guards in the resemblance of a cape. A white hair guard with a red V appeared on her head. Red boots and kneepads completed the ensemble.
Mai's costume was a white mini-dress with blue trip. An orange chestplate with blue shoulder guards was worn over top the dress. White boots with blue tops were worn. Mai wore yellow gloves. A crown with three gems at the center and two spikes on either side adorned Mai's head. A yellow bow tie with a blue stone appeared on each wrist, the top of each boot, right under Mai's neck, and at the small of her back. As soon as Mai's transformation was done, she held out her hand and a shinai appeared in her hand.
Staring in shock, Usagi said, "Sailor Senshi?"
Mai asked, "Where are the Oni?"
Doro gave the instructions and watched as the two left. Ha chuckled quietly as he turned to Usagi.
"So, do you want to watch?"
Usagi, still stunned, just nodded.
Doro said, "Follow me."
The two of them walked into an alley. They suddenly disappeared and then reappeared near a small festival. Usagi blinked, as she took in her surroundings.
Usagi asked, "Why didn't Mai and Hikari use that, well...?"
"It's not precisely accurate and who says they didn't?"
Before Usagi could ask a question, she saw a group of ten large red skinned men with horns heading for some children. She instinctively grabbed for her broach, when something caught her attention. Mai and Hikari had jumped in front of the Oni.
Mai said, "Oni, we are the Makendo. Surrender yourselves to the Spirit Police or be destroyed."
Usagi whispered, "Spirit Police?"
Doro replied, "A police force dedicated to keeping harmony between this world and the spirit world. The spirit creatures such as Oni, dryad, ghost, and others not mentioned in myths and legends comprise the spirit creatures. The Makendo are spirit hunters used against those that get out of hand."
The largest of the Oni said, "The Makendo? Two little girls playing dress up. We'll finish with you and have our feast upon these pitiful humans."
Mai raised her shinai. "Let's see if you can back up your boasts."
Usagi watched as Mai and Hikari blurred as they jumped towards the Oni. Hikari's fist landed in the middle of the throat of one of the smaller Oni. Well, more like her fist went through the Oni's throat. Mai caved in the leader's head with a blow from her shinai. Hikari's right foot glowed with yellow energy, as she started multiple roundhouse kicks that smashed into three more Oni. Each of the demons was kicked several meters away and skidded face first across the pavement. A sickening crack came from the three skidders. Mai's shinai blurred as she struck another four. To Usagi's eyes, it looked like Mai was holding a hundred shinai due to how fast she was attacking. Mai stopped and in katakana on the chest of each Oni was the word Makendo. The four demons dropped to the ground and lay very still. The last Oni seeing his companions killed so quickly dropped to his knees.
"Have mercy! Have mercy!"
Mai and Hikari stopped their attacks. Mai looked around and nodded at Doro. Doro teleported in front of the Oni and snapped his fingers. Several men and women wearing black outfits and had what appeared to be ghost eyes on the front on the front of their uniforms.
Doro said, "You are under arrest. Take him away and clean up the bodies."
The strange people quickly gathered the nine corpses and handcuffed the still living Oni. Mai and Hikari transformed back into their civilian clothes. The strangely uniformed people vanished, leaving the three girls and Doro.
Doro turned to Usagi and asked, "What were you going to do with that brooch?"
