Moon and Makendo: General Revival [Episode 142336]

by Disruptor

At Spirit Police Headquarters, Doro walked to a room labeled Makendo Empowerment. He opened the door and gazed thoughtfully at the featureless female mannequin in the center of the room. Nodding to himself, Doro saw that one of the lab technicians was pouring fire from a barrel into a hopper that was built into a large tubular machine.

Walking over to the lab technician, Doro said, "Kikai see if we can make a Makendo device out of these stones."

Closing the hopper, Kikai took the three uncut gemstones from Doro and nodded. "I'll run tests for compatibility."

Doro left the matter of the gems in Kikai's hands and walked to the Restoration Center. He had decided to check up on the three patients. Seeing a baby crib with a sleeping Hotaru told him that Professor Tomoe was still undergoing treatment. Doro walked on and found that Jedite had been released from the crystal and was strapped to a table with heavy metal clamps. The Dark General was still not awake. Doro nodded to his fellow police members, as he entered the room.

Doro asked, "How close is he to being fully restored?"

One of the officers present replied, "He's about ready to go depossessionment and decursing now. Examining that equipment, showed that powerful exorcism and curative magic will also work on that type of brainwashing."

Holding his hand out, Doro said, "Earmuffs and earplugs."

He received the items and quickly put them on. He signaled that he was prepared and one of the officers threw a switch. What looked like electricity flowed across the prone form of Jedite. Jedite's eyes flew open and he screamed very loudly. The Dark General spasmed, as he tried to break free of the restraints. Glass panels in front of gauges shattered from the sound Jedite was making. One of the officers picked up a whiskbroom and brushed the glass into a dustpan and dumped the shards into a trashcan filled with glass shards. Black smoke lifted from Jedite and the electrical energy lifted up away from Jedite and left him gasping for breath. A small barrel descended from the ceiling and opened up. The dark smoke was forced inside the barrel by the electrical discharge. The barrel snapped shut and the machinery powered down.

Removing his hearing protection, Doro asked, "How are you feeling Jedite?"

Jedite glared at him. "I'm in extreme pain. How do you think I fell?"

Doro replied, "Not you physical pain. Are you still loyal to Beryl and her desire to rule the Earth."

"What are you...," Jedite began, and trailed off as the memories came back to him. "What have I done?"

Doro casually replied, "You were under Beryl's control and not really responsible. Consider the pain that you just went through as part of your penance. Release him."

The metal clamps snapped open with a metallic booming sound. Sitting up, Jedite rubbed his wrists in an effort to relieve the pain. He looked around the area in confusion.

"Where am I? Who are you?"

"I am Spirit Detective Doro. This is Spirit Police Headquarters. The Spirit Police is tasked with keeping spirits, monsters and the like from harassing the human world and to clean up afterwards. It came about long after the destruction of the Silver Millennium."

Jedite asked, "How did you know about the Silver Millennium?"

"I had a nice long talk with Sailor Moon, who is the reincarnation of Princess Serenity."

Jedite started laughing. "All that work and it was so obvious who she really was."

With a sad look on his face, Doro said, "Please follow me. There are some things you need to know about and this place is not conductive for casual talk.

Curious, the former Dark General followed Doro. As they slowly walked to the Makendo Empowerment room, Doro explained what had happened after Jedite had been sealed away. Tears fell from Jedite's eyes, as he learned of the deaths of his fellow Dark Generals. Before entering the room, Doro told Jedite of the later battles, which finally culminated into the fight that Sailor Moon had with Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune earlier today.

Jedite snorted. "I've always heard those two were a little quick to judge. Why Queen Serenity never replaced those two with people who were less judgmental, I have never figured out."

"Weren't they the princesses of their various worlds?" Doro asked.

Jedite nodded. "Yes. However, there were other members of those royal families."

Doro frowned and asked, "How did the Silver Millennium government work in regards to all the planets?"

Jedite sighed and quickly explained how that long dead government worked.

Doro nodded. "Ah. Fiefdom. Now it makes sense."

Jedite asked, "Fiefdom?"

Doro replied, "I'll get you some books on that. We're here to check up on something."

The two men entered the room and Doro headed over to Kikai, who had removed his hat and was running a hand though his hair.

Doro asked, "Problems?"

Kikai answered, "Yes. These stones have a lot of power, but they can't be used. We're so close in making another Makendo device."

Curious, Jedite walked over and saw the stones the two cops were talking about. He blanched upon seeing the gems. Seeing his reaction, Doro turned to him.

"You know what these are?"

Jedite nodded. "Yes. They are three of the stones that are left after the Four Generals die. I was one of them. The mystical oath to act as advisors to Prince Endymion would bind each of ours spirits to a gem."

Doro replied, "Gemstones that have ghosts haunting them. Well that explains the incompatibility problem. Kikai take the stones to the Restoration Center."

Kikai nodded and left with the gems.

Staring in shock, Jedite asked, "You can bring my friends back?"

Doro shrugged. "No. The Spirit Police can not revive the dead. Maybe if we can get Sailor Saturn and Sailor Moon to work together on the gems, there is a possibility that they could resurrect them. That's now a future project."

Jedite closed his eyes and softly said, "I see. At least there's hope."

Doro looked once more at the featureless mannequin and shook his head. "So close."

Jedite followed the gaze and scratched his head in confusion. "What did you mean by that?"

Doro spread his arms in an encompassing gesture. "This room is where we create Makendo devices. The Makendo are magical girls similar to the Sailor Senshi. However unlike the Senshi, the Makendo power comes from within, not from a planet. We don't have enough elemental material to make a new device yet. Judging by the gauges, we're short elemental metal and wood."

Jedite pointed at the mannequin. "What's the statue for?"

"That is where a holographic representation of the uniform that is being designed will show up. It allows for tweaks and unique modifications," Doro replied, and put his hands in his pockets."

Jedite asked, "No men?"

"Both labs were destroyed the same day this station opened. This lab was less damaged of the two and the pieces from the male lab were used to bring this one back up to operational levels. We're trying to get the male lab back up, but budget constraints are hindering the progress. That was over five hundred years ago. This lab still isn't up to spec. The original labs could generate the energies needed to make a Makendo device. Now, we have to scavenge elemental materials. Due to this, we only have two active Makendo."

Jedite winced. "That must really be hard."

Doro shrugged. "Not really. Both active Makendo are excellent fighters without their powers. They don't even have to transform to handle the smaller creatures. At any rate, I'm going to investigate something. One of the officers will show you to one of our libraries, so you can get caught up on current events."

Jedite asked, "Where are you going?"

"I found a portal to the moon. I'm going to see if there is something I can scavenge for this lab up there."

Jedite swallowed hard. "Do you mind if I go with you? I want to see what I helped do. I need to know."

Doro nodded. "Very well. You should still have your powers."

Seeing the pain on Jedite's face, Doro thought, "If I can convince him to join up as a Spirit Hunter, my workload should decrease. Still need to work on Makenkah."

The two men left the Spirit World and headed to the portal Doro discovered earlier. Jedite winced upon seeing the remains of the Moon Kingdom. The palace looked like it had been hit by an earthquake and tornado. Pillar fragments littered the area. The central minaret of the Moon Palace was lying next to a cliff face upside down.

Jedite, with tears in his eyes, whispered, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

Doro clapped him on the shoulder. "You can't change the past, but you can work for a better future."

The two men entered the remnants of the palace. The first thing that Jedite noticed was a large gleaming crystal.

"That's Sailor Venus's Crystal Sword," Jedite said. "She's been fighting without it?"

Doro picked up the sword. "Apparently so. I'll have to drop this off where the Senshi are having their meetings."

Jedite asked, "You're just going to walk in and hand over the sword? You did tell me that Sailor Moon thinks..."

Doro interrupted. "That is what she believes. It's probably not true in regards to the Inner Senshi. I blame Penguin Mask. I don't think Sailor Moon has ever fully recovered from that break-up that he initiated, because of a dream. The person she trusted the most broke her heart. Was he always such an idiot?"

Jedite frowned. "I did swear an oath of loyalty to Prince Endymion."

Doro floated down the hallway. "Earth royalty. Figures. He's probably a product of inbreeding and incest."

Jedite begged, "Please, drop it."

Doro silently shrugged and the two found one of the old armories, that had survived being underground. Near a forge, an unsharpened golden sword was lying on the ground. Putting the Crystal Sword down, Doro picked up the golden sword and examined it.

Jedite said, "That's not finished. A symbol hasn't been engraved in it yet."

"No, but it can be used as raw material for a Makendo," Doro answered.

Jedite said, "You're joking."

Doro replied, "Hmmm. Not really. I think this armory has just enough elemental metal and wood to finish another Makendo device. I need to check. Now where...? Ah, there's a bag."

Doro pulled out an old bag and he tossed the two swords in and some other partially enchanted devices. One of the devices was a halfway constructed transformation wand.

After filling the bag up, Doro said, "Let's get back to Earth."

Jedite took a sad look around at the devastation and nodded.

Doro smiled, as he glanced back at the hilt of the crystal sword.

Doro thought, "I meant that I was going to literally drop the sword off at the Hikawa shrine. I think fifteen meters up should protect me from any sort of attack when I drop the sword in the yard. I'll have to time it properly, so as to protect their identities."
