Mara woke up with a start, a sudden feeling of unease bringing her out of her sex-induced sleep.
Not that she was asleep because Ranma performed badly. On the contrary, he literally fucked her into submission. With the sudden decrease in her power she found herself unable to keep up with the pigtailed demon. Thankfully for her Kodachi was also there to take some of the heat.
The demoness blearily opened her eyes, feeling VERY sore, and realized she was resting her head on Ranma's shoulder. Her eyebrow twitched when she felt his hand on her butt, holding her tightly against him, even if he was asleep.
Resting on Ranma's other shoulder Mara could see a mop of black hair, which she took for Kodachi, and a slender and very pale arm resting on his muscled stomach. The sound of even breathing told her both were sound asleep, just as she should be.
The demoness extricated herself from Ranma's hold, snorting as he didn't wake even if she forcibly removed his hand from her posterior, and sat up to take in her surroundings. There was a reason she woke up, and it wasn't related to her new husband and co-wife.
That last thought gave her pause and she turned down to regard her sleeping spouses. "This will take some getting used to..." She grumbled to herself irritably as she stretched and started to get up. Now that she woke up she should probably go get something to eat and finally learn what the fuck happened.
Putting on a bathrobe, that Belldandy conveniently placed in the room for when the trio was done with their activities, Mara walked out and down the hall. She scowled as she walked towards the living room, uncomfortable as heaven about being on shrine grounds surrounded by her enemies.
Upon entering the living room her scowl deepened. "Did you sleep well, Mara-chan?" Urd asked sweetly, too sweetly for Mara's tastes.
The goddess was in a very good mood, as things seemed to be looking up for her, and couldn't wait to give Mara the great news about who her new boss was. Revenge was sweet indeed.
Mara stopped by the door and studied the goddess carefully, trying to discern why Urd would be so happy to have her around. Even making fun of her situation, of her downfall from big bad demoness to baby factory, wouldn't be enough for Urd to tolerate her presence for longer than a couple of hours. "What do you want?"
Urd blinked innocently at the rude question. "Whatever do you mean, Mara-chan?"
The demoness snorted. "Don't give me that shit, Urd! Out with it."
Oh no, Urd thought, you're not taking all the fun out of this. "Out with what? Can't I ask you a civil question?"
Mara grumbled something highly insulting about smart-ass goddesses under her breath and walked over to the table, sitting down unceremoniously and wincing slightly.
Urd lifted an eyebrow teasingly. "Feeling sore, Mara-chan?"
"Piss off," Mara grumbled irritably. Her current situation wouldn't hurt so much if it didn't give Urd the upper hand. Could things get any worse?
"By the way," Urd started so casually that Mara instantly knew something big was coming, "you should try to be nicer to me, too."
The irritated demoness just had it and glared at the other woman. "Fuck you!"
Urd blinked in mock shock. "Why, Mara-chan! Is that any way to talk to your new boss?"
Mara froze at that. It couldn't be... "... What?"
Urd nodded, straightening where she sat and giving the demoness a truly frightening smile. She sure was Hild's daughter. "As of today I'm your new boss. Hild saw to it before leaving."
"... No..." Mara denied in a broken whisper. "No... Nonononono..." How could this be happening to her? HOW?!
She was one of the most successful demonesses on Nifelheim just a day ago...
Now...
Now she was just a failure of a demon, a pregnant demoness under the orders of a goddess...
Mara really wanted to curl up and sob her heart out right now, but seeing the expectant look on Urd's face she swallowed hard and bit back the tears out of pride. She wouldn't allow this bitch the satisfaction of seeing her cry. Not now and not ever...
...
......
Fine! So she cried during the wedding... And when she was demoted... But anyone would've cried then!
Urd smirked as she leaned forward. "I see you're very happy, Mara-chan. You can barely keep in check the tears of joy." She was being really mean to Mara and she knew it, but some payback wouldn't hurt anyone, right? Besides, she was actually being a lot more considerate than Mara would be were their situations reversed.
Mara glared at Urd. "Enjoy it while you can, goddess. I'll get you back for this," she threatened, already planning on having Ranma beat the shit out of Urd again.
As if reading her thoughts, Urd only became smugger. "I don't think so, Mara. I'm actually Ranma's new boss." she smiled triumphantly. "You were only an added bonus to sweeten the deal."
Mara snapped to attention at that, staring at Urd in shock. "You're responsible for Ranma now?"
Urd nodded, a satisfied smile on her face. "Yes."
"You actually decided to look after that walking disaster?" Mara asked incredulously.
"Just so we could be together, Mara-chan," Urd said.
The demoness lowered her head, her blonde hair covering her face, and started to shake slightly.
Urd nodded to herself and watched avidly, waiting for Mara to bawl her eyes out once again. It was a shame she didn't have a camera on her.
"Hmm... Heh heh... Heh heh heh..." And then Mara lost it. "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" She clutched her midsection and laughed like crazy.
The goddess frowned slightly. This was not the reaction she was hoping for...
Mara could do nothing but laugh for a couple of minutes. Laugh as hard as her lungs would allow her to. Laugh for all the suffering she'd gone through since getting this latest assignment. For all the headaches she had. For all the pain that new demon heaped on her.
And all of that...
ALL OF IT!!!
Would go to Urd now!
A very confused and slightly worried Urd was left alone in the living room of the shrine as Mara left, a happy bounce to her step. "Oh Ranma! Ranma, my loooove!!!" She sing-songed as she went, thinking of all the wonderful chaos and destruction they could cause without fear for repercussions. It would all fall on Urd's shoulders now.
The demoness happily bounced over the still asleep Ranma and Kodachi, shocking them awake, and smiled sweetly down at her new husband. "How would you feel about killing Ukyo for a wedding present?"
