Sailor Moon had been in sensory deprivation. Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus were in virtual realities that had either broken them or were breaking them so that they could be rebuilt in a manner more useful to the Overlord. Sailor Jupiter was rapidly being reprogrammed, for all her strength her mind had shattered like fine crystal under the assault that had been levelled against her.
With the case of Sailor Mercury, her intellect had been reduced through neurochemical stimulation. Her mind wiped down to the level of a dog where she would be removed from being a threat.
Except that someone had been slipping her scraps of food not embedded with drugs, that the conditions designed to deconstruct her mind and personality had been weakened.
It wasn't obvious though. Her ability to access her memories or intellect was practically nonexistant at the moment.
She was stunned by the medical team, rendered unconscious, and put through a set of treatments dealing with her new role in life.
All the snuck treats and meals had had an effect on her though. She recognized Ranma as a non-tormentor and bringer of sweets. She recognized many of the scientists as tormentors, and the armored figure as someone who radiated cruelty.
As the work commenced on her body, her mind settled into a dream state.
Overseeing the project was Ranma's mother.
