Usagi's New Day: The Choice Of Three [Episode 144005]

by Kender

Eventually she listened to many of their broadcasts, listening through the spying projection that had followed the visitors back to their world. She decided that she would look closer at these three groups trying to race each other as they sought to contact her. Doing so was only common sense, as she would be able to find out something about them. They were certainly looking to see about finding out about her, so it was only fair to see what she would be facing.

The fact that there was a division among the people of that world was bad enough, but it was clear that cooperation was not something that they tended to practice on a regular basis with anyone they were comfortable with. But then, they weren't the most advanced planet, and so one could not expect them to have risen above everything. Though, each had their own benefits and detriments that made it a hard choice out of the three of them.

For instance, the ones calling themselves the 'Soviets' were a rather strong bunch, if one considered the military. They were big, powerful, and had a solid core of leadership. However, they were a harsh, hardline group with a need to appear militaristic. There wasn't much openness there, and the method of decision making was worrisome.

And they had nations in them that had populations from other lands, and the land called 'America' apparently had been built from the influx and work of immigrants. However, they were having their own issues, like the fact that there was more than dedication to their own ideals, and that there was a lot of push to work against the 'Communist Block'. Then there was the fact that the individual governments were made of conflicting interests in running their own countries.

She knew that she had a choice to make, and it would not be an easy one. If she chose one group to talk to, it would have to be the one that would benefit her people the most. Should she chose wrong, she could make her people the tools, or even the prisoners of those that they sought contact with. Unfortunately, it was clear that each group would have it's own biases, and so she would have to use only her own judgement to seek out someone to talk to... if she chose to do so. No one said that she had to contact anyone, and even if she did, it didn't have to go to someone looking to speak to her.

With that in mind, she decided that it would be best if she:
