Usagi's New Day: Wakening [Episode 140775]

by Kestral

She was the one set to awaken first, to evaluate and respond to changing circumstances.

Her name was Ditae. When the third intrusion had been dealt with, she had been still sluggish from being in coldsleep.

Now she viewed the spacesuited figures approaching with some justifiable dismay.

Imagine you were on a plane, and the plane wrecked on the shores of some distant isle. The first persons to arrive in response to your summons are wearing loincloths and warpaint, yet their spears and ship are made of materials never seen before.

In truth, the technology that the explorers used was completely unfamiliar to those of the castle. They lacked grace and elegance and made the wearers look completely alien.

Ditae shifted her vision, looking inside the bulky suits, and was reassured. These were not of a completely alien visage nor did they conceal some monstrous beings.

She disabled the Self Defense, but did not open any portals to the interior of the castle. These beings were alien in many ways, and she was cautious. They had waited this long, they could wait a bit longer. Still, they had come this far. Communication would have to do for now.

Unfortunately, language translation was such a basic magic she didn't realize that the visitors didn't have it.

The image before their eyes was clearly human. A young seeming woman with really long blonde hair behind her, wearing a gauzy thing that looked to be a cross between a sailor style outfit and a cheerleader costume.

"Roger, Orbitter. We're checking down here but so far it's no go."

"See if you can come up with something, Houston. Trying to play charades in a spacesuit, especially with our air running out, isn't working terribly well."

Humanity had never had a Silver Millenium. No ancient war between a Moon Kingdom and Earth Kingdom. No magic utilizing forces of any kind.

Humanity, the race of Earth, was therefore magically null. No interbreeding of Lunarian to dilute in the human generations over a few millenia. No magical attunement to the Sailor Wars for weal or woe.

The speaking of the woman was obviously done by some technological method that caused vibrations in their helmets producing sounds. Very advanced, though radio worked fine for the humans visiting the Anomaly.

Eventually a very frustrated human contingent had to leave the castle due to fuel and air concerns.

Ditae watched them leave and return to the sparkling planet on the other side of the moon their castle had crashed on.

She wasn't as bright as the scientists, but she was quite capable in her own realm. What she did was follow these Natoids back and listened to their conversations.

Eventually she listened to many of their broadcasts, listening through the spying projection that had followed the visitors back to their world. She decided that:
