He didn’t even spare the man a glace as he was addressed. “Lord Bison, I apologize for the delay, the computers were better encrypted than we expected.”
“I don’t care about excuses. Report.” The scientist held up a clipboard and began to read the information.
“Whoever was using the laboratory was gone long before we arrived. We have some tapes, but only on the subject, not whoever or whatever was using the lab. We do have some information; her name is Hotaru Tomoe, daughter of Professor Tomoe. The girl underwent threshold somewhere between five and seven months ago and became a Pokekit. After that she vanished. We have no explanation for this, but Professor Tomoe was an outspoken ultra-conservative when it came to Pokegirl rights.”
Bison’s frown deepened as his head turned to look at the small man for the first time since he entered. “Are you saying Professor Tomoe is responsible?”
“We have no proof of that, but the Professor disappeared soon after. We have no knowledge of why or how they vanished.
“We do have some evidence that Hotaru’s father was the cause of her disappearance. The man was studying Pokegirl DNA and how it led to evolution. It was his theory that a Pokegirl’s DNA is unstable, provided she is able to evolve into something else. Pokegirls unable to evolve or who have reached full evolution would have stable DNA.”
“Is this theory proven?”
“No my Lord, although there is some facts that give it support. Regardless, when Hotaru underwent threshold she became a Tigress. Sometime after her disappearance she ended up in that lab. Video documents and computer data tell us what happened. Whoever subjected her to these experiments forced her to evolve into a Panthress.”
“A Panthress?” Bison’s head lowered slightly, his hat shading his pupil-less eyes.
“Indeed. The process that turned her into the hated beast was continued. And this is why we think Professor Tomoe had a hand in his daughter’s experiments. The computer data suggested an eighty-five percent probability that Panthress’ are able to evolve.”
“Into what?”
“Unknown, she never evolved and a two weeks ago, before we found and took over the lab, she escaped. No bodies where ever found, so it’s likely that the one who experimented on her managed to get away.”
“And the new Panthress?”
“Also unknown. We found a camera that saw her running away from the lab suggesting she was heading southward. However she has been running for at least ten days, she could have changed direction at anytime.”
“A Panthress is very much feared, and very powerful. She could be a useful tool, if found.”
“Of course Sir. I have already dispatched two teams to locate her. We are trying to keep a low profile however. Our plans are bearing fruit, but if we are to be noticed...”
“See to it that we are not noticed Doctor.” Bison stood abruptly and walked towards a door. “I shall be taming Cammy. Don’t interrupt me.”
“Of course my lord.”
