Moon Princess Retribution was not like a number of her previous attacks in a number of ways, but it still originated from Usagi Tsukino.
A manhole cover popped up on the street and a panda stuck his head out, wearing the cover like a hat. He looked right. He looked left. He let out a sigh of relief.
Vuuummmmm!
"GROWFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!" screamed the panda as he shot out of the manhole with a glowing comet chasing after him.
The panda ran, leaping over fences, ducking under awnings, weaving around pedestrians.
The little fiercely glowing comet matched him exactly, move for move, every acceleration and deceleration.
The panda leapt over a brick wall, ducked onto the other side and waited. No boom? Slowly he peeked over the top. No little ball? Sighing in relief again, Genma turned.
The little ball hanging at eye level sparkled malevolently.
"GROWWFFFF!" BOOM! went a panda-sized hole in the brick wall as a panda ran through it.
ZOOM! went the little ball of energy as it renewed the chase.
One of the bystanders watching all this shook his head. He could have sworn the little energy ball had giggled...
Soun crept forward. Step by step. Inch by inch.
"Here we go again."
Soun ignored the big fellow with the curled ram's horn at his belt. His attention was entirely focussed on Ranma. Height - check. Pigtail - check. Back turned - check. Distracted - check. NOW!
"Got you!" GRAB! STUFF! RUN!
"I gotta bad feeling about this," said Ranma as he watched Soun go running off again.
"Strange, I don't," said Amaterasu.
"Who was that, anyway?" asked Ranma.
Amaterasu noted the chuckles and bets being exchanged among her guests. Odd how this had just sort of been incorporated into events instead of being an interruption. "That was-"
