After all, he'd demonstrated that he didn't have any lustful feelings for Shampoo; he'd not taken advantage of her when she was under the effects of the mind-controlling phoenix eggs. When they'd returned to Nerima, Mousse had even gone so far as to offer his services as security at Ranma's would-be wedding to Akane. It had been at Nabiki's suggestion, but it suited his plans just fine to see Ranma happily married to the Tendo girl. Or, really, any non-Shampoo girl.
The problem then was that after the wedding had been crashed -- very shortly after -- Ranma had suddenly adopted a daughter, and then nullified all of his engagements. Mousse was concerned about this, especially when Shampoo explained to Mousse that she was positive it was all so he could be married to her.
That had put Mousse into a foul mood, and he'd been reliving his first few months in Nerima all over again, filled with anger at the other boy for betraying his trust, and threatening Shampoo. He wasn't confident, at this point, that Shampoo loved -- or even liked him. But he was positive that if Ranma hung around her, he'd never have a chance with Shampoo himself.
She'd vanished for a while, claiming it was a delivery, and then come back covered in dust. Then she'd ordered the restaurant closed, and told her father to relax. Mousse, of course, was ordered to clean up in the kitchen. He'd just finished mopping, when he heard Ranma's voice, saying, "...need more time to think about it."
Someone else replied, but Mousse froze. Shampoo had closed the restaurant? Ranma was _there_? That was pretty much dragging a knife across his chances with Shampoo, Mousse thought with returning anger.
"Ranma!" he roared, charging into the dining room, preparing his weapons, and deciding that for once, he would go all-out on his enemy. "Prepare to die!"

Ranma considered his options, not really sure what to do with his day. Another day like yesterday with his daughter could be fun. But then, he needed to be sure he raised a girl who could handle the responsibilities that Urd said she needed to handle. How to go about that, exactly? Maybe he could ask Urd for advice during their 'date'.
He was so lost in thought he didn't even notice that Mousse was attacking him until after the third *whang* of Ukyou's battle-spatula on the boy's prone form. He looked up, dimly surprised to see the myoptic martial artist lying on the floor.
"Jackass," Ukyou muttered, while Shampoo put away her bonbori. Akane merely sniffed, untangling some chain from her naganita.
"I miss something?" Ranma asked. "Yo! Mousse. You okay?"
"Been ... better," Mousse gurgled. "Kill you ... tomorrow."
"Eh. I'm planning on spending tomorrow with my daughter," Ranma decided, even though he didn't know what he'd be busy doing. "Maybe some other time."
"Curse ... you ... Saoto...me," the boy on the floor managed, before he suddenly went still, passing out completely.
"Well," Ranma said with a shrug. "What do you want to do tomorrow, Hotaru-chan?"
"Hmm," Hotaru noised thoughtfully. "Well, how about...."
