Silent Hero: Planning Hotaru's Training [Episode 145542]

by Sgt. Chibi De`Ohki

"How about we go visit that nice Kodachi lady," Hotaru decides. "She seems to have all sorts of fun stuff in her house!" Ranma considered that, briefly, while Ukyou, Akane, and Shampoo all combined efforts to give him a very unimpressed gaze, one which spoke volumes (well, between the three of them libraries) of disappointment.

"Well," Ranma said slowly. "How about ... um ... tomorrow morning, we visit with Ucchan in the morning, and then we'll visit Shampoo for lunch, then we'll go visit Kodachi and come back home so we can have dinner with Akane?"

"That sounds perfect!" Hotaru decided, giving her father an affectionate hug.

Soap chuckled ruefully. "Ranma-san, you daughter act much like Shampoo at her age," he noted.

Ukyou and Akane nodded knowingly, while Shampoo blushed faintly, and looked away. "Shampoo just affectionate," she mumbled. Ranma made a note to himself to keep a close eye on Hotaru when she started becoming interested in boys.

"Good to know," he remarked.

"Ranma, what exactly are you up to?" Akane finally asked. "What's your plan for tomorrow?"

"Oh, well ... I figured since Hotaru's a Saotome, she should have the opportunity to learn the family art," he said slowly.

"I want to!" Hotaru exclaimed delightedly. "I want to be able to run and jump like you, Papa-san!" Ranma couldn't help but grin with pride at that. This was going better than he'd hoped.

"Only problem is, I don't know that much about training girls," he said slowly. "So I thought I'd check with the best martial arts girls I know -- and that's you three and Kodachi."

"You sure you trust Kodachi around Hotaru-chan?" Ukyou asked skeptically.

"I'll be sure to protect her, and there's a reason we're coming back here for lunch before seeing Kodachi," Ranma said dryly.

"Ah," Akane said, nodding. "No chance for her to slip anything into some food."

"Among other things," Ranma muttered. "I'm also going to try and keep things brief. Anyway, I want to take Hotaru-chan to Tofu-sensei's. I have to talk to Tarou, and I need to make sure that you're okay after that creep grabbed you."

"I don't want to see a doctor! I feel fine!" Hotaru protested.

Ranma nodded, and said, "Well, here's what I'm thinking, Hotaru-chan. Tofu-sensei's one of the best martial artists I know, but he's not really a martial artist as much as a doctor. He's the doctor that a martial artist would go to see. So I'm going to take you to him to see if there's anything we can do to help you with your dizziness, and shortness of breath."

Hotaru pouted.

"Sugar," Ukyou warned, smiling at the girl, "if you don't go, you might not be able to practice martial arts."

"And if you're sick, Tofu-sensei will make you feel better," Akane assured. "He's been my family's doctor for years."

"Aiyah, Shampoo have job working as nurse for Tofu-sensei," the Joketsuzoku warrior said, nodding. "He very good!"

"Well ... okay," Hotaru said reluctantly. "Will you be there too, Papa-san?"

Ranma looked mildly indignant. "What, you think I'd abandon my daughter?" he asked.

Hotaru giggled at that. "You're so funny, Papa-san."

"Thanks," he said, before turning to address his former fiancees. "So, if it's not too much to ask ... would you be willing to help me train Hotaru-chan?"

The three exchanged a glance, and then responded in unison, "Of course!"

"Yay!" Hotaru cheered, her reluctance to meet with Tofu alleviated for the moment. "I like spending time with my big sisters!"
