"While you're watching?" Ranma asked indignantly. "Come on, a little privacy!"
All three girls sighed, but left to give him the room he asked for. Once he was alone, Ranma grumbled, but stripped. The girls had bought him an entirely new outfit, and he suspected from the shopping bags, quite a lot of new clothes for his daughter as well.
He wasn't sure where they found blue silk boxers with his name in a repeating pattern on it (in English, no less), but they fit well, and then a comfortable black tank-top. Over that, a suede blue shirt, in the same style as his normal, if it looked much better, and was marked with thread-of-gold for the ties.
"Nice," he mused, dressed in his underclothes, and holding the shirt up for inspection. That was when the door opened, and three familiar faces peeked in. "Hey!" he protested, quickly diving into the shirt, and pulling on a the pants they left him with. He stopped to examine them more closely once they were put on. They had drawstrings hidden inside the waistband so he could adjust them to fit cursed or uncursed form easily.
"Well?" all three girls asked him expectantly.
"This is nice," Ranma admitted.
Shampoo nodded, and she and Ukyou grabbed a wrist each, undoing the cuffs and rolling them back to bare his forearms. Akane held up a pair of jet-black bracers of some flexible but durable looking material, and he slipped those on.
Then Ukyou and Shampoo nodded and released him. "He looks great," Ukyou admitted, unable to take her eyes from him.
"Mmm!" Shampoo agreed, eyeing him up and down.
"Almost complete," Akane agreed with a frown. "But there's something ... missing."
"Like what?" Ranma asked, escaping to the corner and quickly transferring his phone, data-cube, and ID card to their new pockets.
"Papa-san!" Hotaru exclaimed, bursting into the room, clutching an unopened package in her arms. "Grandmother Nodoka gave me this for you!"
He found the package thrust into his arms, and scratched his head nervously. "Oh yeah," he mused, opening it slowly. It was ... a large bolt of blue silk cloth, easily of higher-grade fabric than he'd seen before. "Huh," he mused, holding it up and letting it unfurl. "What exactly is...."
He trailed off as he realized that he was holding a large reversible cape, red on one side, blue on the other, and with his name emblazoned on it in giant black kanji. What looked to be worked gold clasps and a chain would keep it in place, but.... "Oh, no," he said, shaking his head slowly. "I'm gonna look ridiculous in--"
Further protests were silenced by three former fiancees that wouldn't pass up an opportunity to see their shared target and prize (all neatly rolled into one!) dressed in proper heroic regalia. Hotaru's insistence was especially hard for him to refuse. So Ranma was forced to admit that the cloak did fit him well, he wouldn't lose it like he had lost that last bath-towel, and yes, it worked just fine for the Umisen-ken.
"I still don't have to like it," Ranma groused.
"Yes you do," Akane corrected him mildly. "It's a gift from your mother."
"And you look really good," Ukyou agreed fervently.
Shampoo just nodded, though her grin promised much more if Ranma didn't watch himself around her.
"You're right," Ranma agreed contritely. "I should go thank her."
