Gundam Seed - After War: The Comming of the Storm. [Episode 146071]

by Ninja Kasuga of the Demonite Race

A short while ago.

Speaking over the radio between their mobile suits; Lowe continued to talk on about a so-called “perfect battle strategy” to which Kou sighed and shook his head. “-And once we get close enough I’ll fire a line-shot to take out most of em’ in a line and-“

”Lowe it sounds good but we’re not going to join the fight as is.” The young Coordinator said as he cut Lowe off.

”Huh?! Why the hell not?” Lowe demanded.

“Think about it, we’re piloting stolen mobile suits. If anyone gets a good picture of us coming to Orb’s aide the EA will be back down Orb’s throat like a horny tongue on prom night.”

Lowe’s face scrunched a little as he thought about that. “Okay point made, but how are we going to help if we can’t be seen?”

”Jane will be fine since she’s under water and she won’t be Id’d. We on the other hand are going to fly around to the secret hanger bay and ditch the suits in the hanger and take our own into the fray.” Kou explained.

“You’re talking about the hanger where the Archangel was housed when it underwent repairs right?” Lowe asked and saw Kou nod on the vid-screen. “Alright then but how do we get it opened? We don’t have the access codes, and without Eight I can’t even fathom hacking it.”

“Simple we buzz someone how can open it.” Kou replied matter-of-factly, turning his head as a beeping sound in the cockpit caught his eye. “Eh what’s this?” He says as he pushes a button, a small screen overlays on one of his monitors. “Well this is just fucking peachy.”

“What is it?”

“According to this there’s a huge mass of high winds that look like the forming of a Hurricane not too far from Orb.” Kou replies with a heavy frown. “Judging by the path it won’t hit Orb directly but it’ll pass by close enough there will be large-scale backlash winds that are close to 50mph.”

Lowe groaned and slapped a hand over his forehead. “Those Obsidian guys picked a wonderful time to plan an attack.”

”I doubt they knew this would happen, it seems that it formed rather suddenly and not more than an hour or so ago.” Kou stated as he read the rest of the data before closing the screen-window. “But regardless we need to hurry up or there may not be anything left to defend.” He flipped a switch on the console to turn on the radio and punched in the proper frequency. “This is Kou Uramecha calling Erica Simmons, do you read?”

After a moment a somewhat static-ridden image came up on the view-screen. “Kou? Where the hell have you been?! We could use some MS support here!”

Kou winced at Erica’s tone. “Sorry I’ll explain the nature of my absence later, but right now I need you to open the doors to the secret hanger on the other side of the combat zone.”

”What the hell for?” The Morgenroete engineer demanded.

Kou face palmed for a moment. “Because that way Lowe and I can sneak in unseen and get to our mobile suits without being shot down Erica, as it is we can’t risk being seen in the MS we got.”

Before Erica could zing him another question, Kisaka’s voice was heard over the radio. “I’ll authorize his request, open the hanger doors and make sure the Gold and Red Frames are prepped. Just make sure you properly keep your “new toys” out of sight.”

Kou smirked. “Will do Kisaka, and thanks a bunch.”

The Present:

Watching Cagalli, Kisato and Liam run into the hanger Kou turns the Gold Frame to face the flashing lights of the battle and boost-jumps back into the fray. “Hey Lowe how’re things on your end?”

A GINN sparks as a long katana blade pierces through its upper chest and then in a zig-zag flash the mobile suit splits into section pieces before exploding. Twirling the Gerbera Straight, the Red Frame brings it back into a defensive stance as it moves to a new spot to avoid being a stationary target. “So far so good on this end, but damn they’re better equipped this time. More suits, more equipment, and they got subs giving them support fire.”

“I know…fuck they’re pretty adamant on just destroying one ship.” Kou mutteres as he dodges a DINN’s gunfire before using the built in beam saber on his Trikeros right arm to slice it in half. “I guess we can be lucky they’re not trying to take over Orb itself, in the sorry condition this nation was left in after the Alliance razed it I doubt they could survive a full-frontal invasion. Hell these damn raids are taxing enough as it is.”

“Tell me about it.” The Junk Tech agreed as he had the Red Frame draw its beam rifle with one hand from its holster and fire two shots that hit a DINN in the leg and then the head causing it to crash to the ground. “I don’t get it…why can’t people just co-exist together? All this fighting and hatred is pointless!”

Kou let out a soft, bitter chuckle as he decapitated a GINN before skewing it on a lancer dart and kicks it over before it explodes. “Because humans are stupid Lowe we may have brains that give us reasoning over other animals, but we’re far more destructive…more open to hate, jealousy, fear. Sadly not enough people have the same ideals of existence like you, Lacus or Cagalli have. If everyone could hold onto such ideals, the universe would be a much better place. But like Tom Clancy said in Rainbow Six, “Morons are not an endangered species”.

“Now there’s a statement that holds true no matter how many centuries pass in humanities history.” A female voice chuckles over the radio.

Out in the water by the harbor, small explosions spout up from the ocean, followed by a much larger one as the port side of one of the surfaced submarines explodes from a torpedo hit.

“Sorry for the tardiness boys but I think I can pick up the slack with the submerged units, and keep the subs from giving these jerks too much support.” Jane Houston said over the radio.

“No worries, just keep moving so they can’t get a weapons lock or successfully ID you.” Kou replied as he held his right arm to deflect some weapons fire. A bazooka round streaked toward him but suddenly swerved off target, harmlessly hitting the pavement a few feet from Gold Frame.

”…What the hell?” Kou pressed a button to bring up the weather sensory functions. “Shit…Jane, Lowe do you read me?”

”What’s up partner?” Lowe responded.

“Remember I said I picked up a weather report of a hurricane that was a few miles off from Onogoro? Well I think the first wave of the backlash winds just waltzed into town, the wind speed in the area just shot up by several numbers of tens.”

As it was the weather was darkening considerably that was beyond the natural cycle of day and night…indeed a storm was coming. Maybe not the entire storm itself but anyone who has experienced a hurricane will tell you the backlash winds from one nearby can be just as troublesome.

The battle was now going to get more interesting…
