Chimera, formerly an entirely different Angel (or Acolyte - depending on your translation notes) had become an entirely different order of beastie.
SEELE's "old men" didn't know about Mihoshi, so they were just this side of completely flummoxed.
"This has deviated significantly from the scenario," said a scowling Chairman Keele.
"There was nothing about bunnygirls in the Dead Sea Scrolls," lamented Seele 04.
"Can it be something Ikari has done?" asked Seele 05.
"If you can tell me HOW this was done, I'd answer you," pointed out Seele 06. "Modifying an Angel is a difficult proposition at best."
"It's all done with AT Fields," suggested Seele 07. "Modifying the Kalabi-Yau shape to produce superstring variations."
"You might as well call it 'magic' for all that," said Seele 08, his little floating monolith producing a paper fan and bonking the Seele 07 monolith.
"How did you do that?" asked Seele 05.
"Just modified my holographic projection file to use emoticon animation," said Seele 08. "I've got a little bunnygirl hacker in my employ who came up with the idea while we were... experimenting with her genetic modifications."
"Damn, you must be pretty lousy if she's working out code while you're doing the horizontal mambo," said Seele 07 a bit louder than he'd intended.
WHAP! WHAP! WHAP! WHAP!
Keele dropped his head as far as his cybernetic implants would allow. "Would it be too much to ask if we got back to the problem at hand?"
"I'm not sure there is a problem," said Seele 08, his little black monolith sporting a pulsing red "#" at one corner.
"I want one of those," said Seele 09.
"Emotive animations?" asked Seele 05.
"No, bunnygirl hackers," said Seele 09. "I'm up here in the mountains and in the winter..."
"One more divergence from the topic and I start cutting connections," tried Chairman Keele.
"The alterations produced by this 'Chimera' are such that it appears the shared paradigm functions of the Overmind," began Seele 07.
"No more technobabble either," said Chairman Keele. "What exactly are we facing?"
"Chimera has struck in several locations now. North America, Great Britain, Africa, and along the Asiatic Rim. Tokyo-3 as well of course." Seele 08 paused as if consulting something. "The changes are definitely following a pattern but my personnel are still working out the figures. Suggest we reconvene tomorrow at Greenwich Mean Time 08:00 - I should be able to report some basic figures. Due to communications blackouts and panic in the affected areas, information gathering is somewhat problematic."
"So be it," said Keele. "When we have more data we can formulate a response."
Misato was a superpowered android who could powerup into a magical mecha girl.
Asuka was a foxgirl who could powerup into a magical kitsune girl.
Rei was an angel who could powerup into a magical winged girl.
Ritsuko was a catgirl who could powerup into a magical medical girl.
Maya was a mousegirl and it was certainly suspected that she could transform.
Shinji was-
Gendo pushed his glasses up as he watched the surveillance camera. He took after his father in one respect at least. Though Shinji freaking completely out and running around squawking like a chicken detracted from the image somewhat.
"The other transformees are returning to the medical holding area," said Makoto.
"Put them all in together," ordered Gendo.
"Sir?" asked Makoto. "Oh, so we can observe any behavioral changes?"
"That and I don't think we could keep them separated without killing them," said Hyuga.
The doors swished open and Shinji found himself confronted with a winged Rei, a younger-looking Misato and Ritsuko, the latter of which had cat ears and a cat tail, and a mouse-eared and tailed Maya.
Shinji gawked, standing there for a few moments as:
