Dragon Wives: Spatulas Are No Substitute For Dragonlances [Episode 146669]

by Proteus

“Well, guess that answers that question,” Jane mumbled to herself. Then an idea came into her head that would at least provide some amusement in this toilet. “Well, me and my husband were just talking about getting out of this little hell hole and go do something more… interesting.” Which was technically true. When she had first married Ranma, Jane had thought she was just going to be doing the same old stuff, with a greatly increased power level, until the kid died of old age.

“Husband?” Ukyo asked through gritted teeth while she just tried to will the girl in front of her to die on the spot.

Ranma flinched at the way Ukyo was talking, and wondered if he should just try and shrink away. If it wasn’t for the death grip Six had on his hand, he would of done it already. But now… seeing that the two girls didn’t know a bit of martial arts, Ukyo would run up and bash him in the ground… and then get eviscerated by the two magical lizards a second later.

Well the girls probably wouldn’t kill Ukyo, they hadn’t done it to anybody so far, and maybe if he blocked…

Unconcerned with the girl’s question or anger, Jane looked the little twit over. She was short, barely above plain when it came to looks, and… “Where’s your chest?” The girl had no breasts. “You’re not one of those freaks that that try and change your sex with mutilation and plastic, are you?” Some of the humans in Earth Realm were just weird beyond even a dragon’s understanding.

“Why you-”

“Why exactly do you want this one anyway?” Jane asked Ranma after turning around to face her husband. The dragon had been right, this boy had absolutely no taste in women. “I know it can’t be looks. She-” The feeling of something, a rather large and smooth object, slamming into her back cut into what she was going to say. It was more of the surprise and shock of the thing that drove Jane down, her body bending as if to she was trying to tie her shoes… if they had laces that is. “-did she just hit me with her shovel?”

Ranma gulped, he knew no matter what, this was going to end up bad. “Umm… it’s a spatula actually,” he corrected in an uncomfortable tone. Ranma couldn’t believe Ukyo had just done that. Jane wasn’t a martial artist, and nobody could just tell she was a dragon just by looking at her. “Jane, just-”

“What do you mean YOUR HUSBAND?” Ukyo shouted in rage. She couldn’t believe this… this whore would dare say someone like her Ranchan would ever even associate for someone like her! Lifting her spatula to see what was left of the street tramp, Ukyo was so consumed by rage that she barely noticed the girl was already picking herself off the ground.

“Stupid little girl,” Jane mumbled before turning around and lashing out with a backhanded swipe.

The sound of a thunderclap accompanied Jane’s fist impacting the lower half of Ukyo’s ribs. Everyone in the crowd standing behind the girl rushed to get out of the way, some trampling the ones that simply ducked to remove themselves from the path of the flying chef. Her body, twirling from the lopsided punch made Ukyo’s shoulder catch the cemented walkway before skipping back into the air, the upper half of her back and neck bounced off the grass a yard later, and then she finally impacted the wall on the far side of the courtyard with the full front of her body.

“JANE!” Ranma shouted before Six finally let him go. He stormed up to the dragon in human form with a frown. “What the heck was that?”

Jane rolled her eyes at her husband’s inane stupidity. People like him were the very reason her native language used the same word for hero and idiot. “Are you blind? That little twit just tried to kill me.”

“She-”

“Attacked Jane when her back was turned?” Six questioned before Ranma could protest. She didn’t see the problem in Jane smacking the other girl. Ranma was just too protective of other people sometimes.

“Yeah but she didn’t-”

“Know that I’d be able to get up afterwards? She didn’t know if I’d even be able to survive her little attack?” Jane asked with a raised eyebrow. “Are you saying that you’re actually siding with this girl Sire?”

Well, the girl’s did have a point, more than one actually. “… no,” Ranma said pathetically. Then he realized where this conversation was going, and frowned. “Hey wait a second! Okay, so she hit you. You didn’t have to-”

“Teach the girl not to pick on people stronger than her? Should I have just let her get away with it so she could think that she could just keep picking fights?” Jane asked. The lost look that the anger on Ranma’s face made her want to sigh. “What do you think I did, kill the girl? Please Sire, after that little fit you threw when Six over there put your other little girl in her place, I’d hardly think that you’d be pleased with me if I did something like that. She’ll be hurt and sore for a long while,” and have plenty of broken bones, but Jane didn’t think she would mention that part, “and because of that, she’ll remember just what happens when she picks a fight with me and Six, and if she’s smart won’t do it anymore.”

When Jane finished her little speech, Ranma could see where she was coming from. After all, he just sat back and let happen to himself all the time. Of course he couldn’t retaliate, he could hit the girls back, because… they were just girls! It was better for him to just take the beating and be done with it. “I guess I see your point,” Ranma admitted. “But it isn’t like that’s going to solve anything. Trust me, soon as she gets up Ukyo will be trying something again.”

Truth was, Ranma had been starting to think Ukyo was a little nuts.

“I never said she actually was smart,” Jane replied with a roll of her eyes.

Ranma just sighed at the dragon's response. He supposed that was the best he was going to get from the girl.
