She went out to a shopping district.
However, she did not wish to buy anything. At that moment, it was enough for her to be able to just walk amongst people who were happy and living, rather than waiting for the ax to fall. She spent her time walking around the various open air markets, and smiled to herself over the fact that they were something that everyone, no matter their origin, had no problem in agreeing to allow. They were nice, and she made mental reminders to pick up some things later on, but in the end, she wandered over to one of the high rises and went up in it. It wasn't that she had to go, but she wanted to.
On a floor overlooking the streets, the building had a floor of shops, with a wide walkway for shoppers to walk on, with the stores held on the inside of the building. Massive windows gave those walking by wonderful views of the outside, and gave differing effects depending on the time of day. One could see the sun gently illuminating the city from the horizon, the growing glory of the city, or the glittering twinkle of the various lights from that one place.
Misato found herself a spot at one window where she could see the pair of gently rolling rivers that flowed through the city, separating it into three parts, with a peninsula in the center. From there, she could see the work craft passing by, some of which she was certain had to be heading over to where the city governmental buildings were being put up.... provided that they could ever decide on what they wanted to put up. Some wanted a new building that would be solely the city's, others wanted something based on the Diet building in Tokyo, and still others wanted something out of a fantasy novel.
And that was only an indicator on how far things were going to go, but then, everything they did during this time would affect every generation that would live on the planet. Since she had no wish to go back to what her world of origin had held for her, that was something important to her. She had a desire to settle there, and put down roots. As she glanced to the side, she saw a human woman smiling at her elf companion, and a Vulcan woman sitting close with a male who was probably her mate, the major found herself growing misty eyed.
Quickly wiping her face with one hand, she composed herself, and turned back to the window, looking over at the golden glow that the setting sun was bathing the city in. The visual was lovely, and she knew that there would be poets and painters who'd want to see what she was seeing. But this was the sort of thing that she only shared with a few people, and at the moment, she wanted to have it to herself right then.
Soon though, her eyes got a far away look in them, and her lips curled up into wistful smile.
"Excuse me?" a voice put in, interrupting her thoughts.
Blinking as she was jolted back to reality, she turned to face the speaker, who turned out to be:
