According to this briefing, she had a few months to establish her role before the actual Labor began, here she was going to be:

• Akane Tenso, the Corellian Freighter pilot (smuggler) who was supposed to help get those Rebellion medical supplies to the correct place.
• Akane 10-DO. Waitaminute, she's a droid?!
• Akane the bounty hunter. There's a wanted criminal on this world...
• Akane the Repairer, operating a Lu class tug/repair vessel in a crowded star system.
• Akuma Tenro, waitaminute, she's a guy?!
• something else
