"That was a pathetic showing," Wes commented. "He had no defenses against Ice or Rock attacks. His Doduo and Pidgeot got clobbered by Ocitllery and Tyranitar."
Rui said, "He was expecting Electric attacks. You used the other weaknesses."
Wes shrugged and looked at the Feather Badge he had won. He pulled a small bag from his pocket and dropped the badge inside. He pulled the drawstring at the mouth of the bag taunt and stuffed the bag back inside his pocket.
"What type of bag was that?" Rui asked.
"Ring bag. A person bought a ring and tossed the bag it came with away. I recovered the bag for later use. It should be good for holding badges."
The two of them boarded Wes's cycle and headed for Azalea Town.
"How are we going to get through the Rock Tunnel without being bothered by wild Onix?" Rui asked.
"I bought some Repel and I do have both a Grass Pokemon and Water Pokemon to handle rocky threats like that."
Wes drove his motorcycle through the Rock Tunnel. A few Onix did try to impede their progress, but Wes was something of a nut when it came to riding. He quickly dodged around the Onix, sometimes by driving up a wall and using friction and momentum to defy gravity, and shot out the exit of the Rock Tunnel.
Panting in fear from the Rui looked over at Wes. "I thought you said you had some Repels."
Wes shrugged. "I do. I just like to keep my cycling skills up."
Stopping the cycle in front of the Azalea Gym, Wes dismounted and looked at his bike.
"Hmmm. I'll have to check out some of the nearest junkyards. I'm thinking about modifying my bike. A single tire and a single hover disc might not cut it anymore."
Rui took a few more breaths to get her nerves under control. "What do you want it to do? Do you want it to be able to go over water as easily as land?"
"Well, I hadn't thought about that. It's a good idea though. I was really thinking about rebuilding it, so it wouldn't look like a collection of exposed spare parts," Wes replied.
Rui just shook her head.
"Well, let's get this over with. Tyranitar could use some practice in squashing bugs with Rock Slide. Then we can see if the Bug Catching contest is open. I think the Lake Ball contest has concluded for the month." _______________________________________________________________________
On the island lair of Cipher, the head of Cipher called for three people to appear in his office. He waited, while two men stood on either side of him. A teenage girl with long pink hair done in two ponytails, a somewhat overweight person wearing a white Lycra bodysuit and a short person who resembled a gorilla came in and waited.
"Lovrina, Snattle, Gorgina, you three are being promoted to Cipher Admins as of now. We need to expand our operations and need more than what we have left after that incident in Orre. Snattle, you head to Mahogany Town and handle operations there. I want you to kidnap every citizen and replace them with our own people. Pryce might even be a new recruit."
The overweight man bowed slightly. "Yes, sir."
"Loverina, your mission won't take place for a week. There is supposed to be a meeting between some of the Pokemon Professors of the differing regions. Kidnap Professors Oak, Birch, Ivy, and Elm. We'll force them to work on making unpurifiable Pokemon. To help in your mission and to have people think we're incompetent, the Hexagon Brothers will be under your command as well."
The teenage girl smiled evilly. "It should be fairly easy to get the Professors. The Hexagon Brothers might be slow on the uptake, but they are quite good at disguises."
"I'll leave the particulars of that mission up to you. Hopefully, we'll find one of Team Rocket's current labs by then and we'll just use theirs."
"Gorgina, your mission is simple. Find an isolated island near the whirlpools around Whirl Islands and build the new Shadow Pokemon Factory there. After it's built, Ein will be assigned to create more Shadow Pokemon."
The gorilla like dwarf nodded.
"Lovrina, you'll be taking some messages to the other Cipher Admins. I want Dakim and his team to destroy the Tin Tower and all the bells it holds. That destruction will make it easier to close Pokemon's hearts and we'll be striking back at Ho-oh for the loss of Evice and Nascour. Lady Venus will be doing the same to the sacred flame that is guarded by Gym Leader Claire. Miror B and his team are apparently doing the grunt work in hunting for Team Rocket, so he has no new orders. Ein is doing the best he can with limited factory space, so he has no new orders."
Lovrina took the letters from one of the towering two men standing guard over the Cipher head. She looked at the letters and cocked her head sideways.
"Sir? While Dakim is doing the attack on the Tin Tower, should we assign someone to steal the Pokemon out of the Pokemon Center in town?"
The Cipher leader nodded. "Yes. That is a good idea, Lovrina. Since your primary mission has a certain time that it can be pulled off, you can handle that additional part and back up Dakim.”
The pink haired girl bowed and left with the other new Cipher Admins.
