"I'm here to register for the Johto League," Wes said.
"I need to see your Pokedex," Joy said.
Holding up his P*DA, Wes replied, "I don't have one. I have this instead."
Joy took the device from Wes and sighed heavily. "A Pokemon Digital Assistant? I'll have to get out an adapter. Anything else?"
"I'll need a place where I can plug in a Pokedex/Computer Core adapter. I want to switch out some of my Pokemon," Wes replied.
Nurse Joy shook her head in disbelief. "Computer Core? It's been decades since anyone has used one of those."
"Not in Orre," Wes said.
"Orre? That's a wasteland," Joy said in shock. "I didn't think anyone still lived there."
Rui spoke up. "Agate Village isn't a wasteland. It's built inside a forest."
Joy bared her teeth in uncomfortableness. "Er. Well, it's good to see people from a distant land."
Wes asked, "Do you have a rulebook explaining the rules and regulations of this area? Orre has its own and is probably different."
Joy nodded and handed Wes a couple pamphlets and a map. After doing so, she went to work on the P*DA and got Wes registered. Wes found a place to plug in his Computer Core and switched out four of his Pokemon.
"Who did you pull out?" Rui asked.
"Tyranitar, Altaria, Typholsion, and Octillery," Wes replied. "My Espeon and Umbreon are staying put."
Rui said, "You can only have one Pokemon out at a time. Those two work better as a team than on their own."
Wes nodded. "True. As soon as I get my P*DA back, let's find some of the more beneficial contests."
Nurse Joy returned with the P*DA and handed it back to Wes. She shook her head in disbelief.
"Here's your P*DA back. I tired to download an updated Pokedex into the P*DA, but got an error message saying I was downloading an obsolete Pokedex file."
"You probably were," Rui said with a smile. "Orre has to import Pokemon from lots of other regions and the files have to be updated almost every year. I believe at last count there were close to eight hundred different Pokemon species."
Nurse Joy tapped some keys furiously on a computer and stared at the screen in stunned disbelief.
"We're not even up to three hundred yet," she whispered.
Rui pulled out a pamphlet and showed it to Nurse Joy. "Orre might not have wild Pokemon, but with Realgam Tower, Mount Battle and the recently found Orre Colosseum, we do have sites that Pokemon Trainers can visit. I asked Grandpa for a pamphlet that is being sent out as a travel brochure, just so I can show people what Orre is like."
Joy looked at one particular picture of a white tower with what appeared to be a city built on top of it.
"That's Realgam Tower," Rui said. "It's quite beautiful from the outside. Right now, the new owners are setting things up so that trainers from around the world will head there. To that end Gateon Port is being expanded."
"It's time to go, Rui," Wes said.
Rui waved. "Good-bye."
Joy stared after the two and muttered. "I have the feeling the Gym Leaders are not going to have a pleasant time with him."

In a cave in the Johto Regions, A man dressed in a gold disco outfit and an Afro colored to look like a Pokeball turned to three of his subordinates. Each was dressed in a bright colored version of the standard Cipher Peon garb. They were the Mystery Troops Rosso, Bluno and Verde.
"Well boys. Ein is counting on us in finding out where Team Rocket is holed up at and doing. I also have a Shadow Pokemon for each of you to replace the ones lost to those children. A Charmeleon, Wartortle, and Ivysaur. They have been improved over the last batch. They now have other Shadow Attacks beyond Shadow Rush."
The Mystery Troops took the Shadow Pokemon that most closely matched their previous Shadow Pokemon.
In unison the trio said, "We shall do our best, sir."
"I know you will boys. It's time for me to report back. Let the music play," Miror B said, touching something on his Afro.
Loud music started to play, as Cipher Admin Miror B dance-walked out of the cave.
Rosso, Bluno, and Verde looked at each other.
Rosso asked, "Where do we begin?"
Verde said, "There's this child by the name of Ash Ketchum being chased by Team Incompetent of Team Rocket. Find Ash, we find them. We'll get the information out of them about where one of the bases are."
"If they choose not to cooperate," Bluno added. "We'll see how a human can stand up to what is done to turn a Pokemon into a Shadow Pokemon."
The three Mystery Troops shared an evil laugh about that.
